Could airships lift payloads into orbit? JP Aerospace has designed a three-stage system to get their Orbital Ascender airship-to-orbit concept off the ground. Jamie Little, our Cofounder and CTO, is intrigued by the approach John Powell, President of JP Aerospace, is taking. She says, "I love the Ascender concept. Using an airship to lift a rocket to the upper atmosphere will dramatically reduce the amount of propellant necessary to achieve orbital velocity.
