Chefs in general have interesting backgrounds, and I've interviewed a few yacht chefs over the years, especially at the Superyacht Chef Competition that is hosted every year at Monaco Yacht Club. I didn't write this particular article, but it's a good read about Danny Davies, who you may have seen via his 'Behind The Line with Chef Danny Davies' show, reading his write-ups in The Triton or acting as a judge for global chef competitions. Is the 'About' section on your LinkedIn profile optimised? Read my tips below. #MarketingTips #YachtLife #Yachts
Marketing & PR Services targeting high-net-worth clients | Copywriting for yachting & luxury brands that challenges the status quo | Founder at Antibes Yachting
?? 2-MINUTE TIPS FOR YACHTING COMPANIES ?? It took me more than 18 months to learn the secret of LinkedIn profiles, but since then something unexpected has happened. I've become laser-focused at spotting crappy 'About' sections on LinkedIn profiles. You know the ones - you read someone's profile and still have no clue what they do! Your profile is digital real estate - it’s working for you 24/7 and can?attract your ideal customers and repel the time wasters. ??Did you know? The 'About' section allows up to 2,600 characters, but most yachting professionals only fill in one or two paragraphs.?Wasted opportunity right there. If your LinkedIn Profile is ineffective, you can be left out of search results and opportunities because potential customers use LinkedIn’s search functionality to look for you by Location, Industry or Company Name. ???FREE TIPS FOR OPTIMISING YOUR LINKEDIN 'ABOUT' SECTION : ? Be clear about YOUR ACTUAL ROLE as that is what people search for. ??Cut the fantasy titles that don’t speak to your actual experience.?What exactly is a “Ninja Deckhand" or "Dream Gifter"? ??Cut the fluffy words and clichéd waffle. Be clear about WHAT problems you solve for customers. ??Avoid statements such as ‘We are the industry’s top....' ? Be clear about WHAT you do so I can work out if it's a good fit for me. Use bullet points if it helps you format your profile concisely….the last thing your prospects need is long, rambling paragraphs.? ? Your About section is not a duplicate of your CV.?Don’t write it in the third person. ? Be specific about your skills, job responsibilities and expertise: I am the Commercial Sales Manager for marine satellite communications in Europe and North America for superyachts 40m+. ? Bob helps yachts reach their connectivity goals. ??B-A-M!?Which one of these two statements above gives clearer information about their role, geographic region and target customer? ?? WHY does your solution work ?? HOW does it work ?? WHERE is your track record of success or results (E.g. Client testimonials, case studies, data). ?? HOW can I buy it or CONTACT YOU for more information? I am always amazed by how many yachting professionals do not give basic information so people can easily contact them, such as giving?your email address. ??Don't forget to add up to 5 skills which will be included at the bottom of your About section. ?? I write or tweak LinkedIn profiles for yachting professionals that attract high-paying customers. If you want to turbo boost your LinkedIn profile out of obscurity, send me a DM! #Yachting #Superyachts #Maritime

You've read ghostwritten content in the yachting industry. Whether you know it or not. Read my latest post diving into ghostwriting and why yachting companies and luxury brands use ghostwriters. #Copywriting #Superyachts #Maritime #AntibesYachting
Marketing & PR Services targeting high-net-worth clients | Copywriting for yachting & luxury brands that challenges the status quo | Founder at Antibes Yachting
?? 2-MINUTE TIPS FOR YACHTING COMPANIES ?? Ghostwriting is the practice of writing content on behalf of someone else,?but your name does not appear as the author when the work is published or presented. You’ve read ghostwritten work in the superyacht sector. Whether you know it or not. I've written thousands of social media posts, blogs, reports, and articles for yachting companies. None of them had my name on them. Common reasons why people use ghostwriters: 1. EXPERTISE ? People may have valuable expertise or insights, but they may not be able to effectively communicate it through writing. There is more to a ghostwriter than just "writing." Ghostwriters are savvy at recognising what customers have in mind and conveying your point through interesting, captivating, or educational content. 2. TIME EFFICIENCY ??Founders, CEOs, and business owners can free up their time to focus on core business duties by delegating copywriting tasks to an experienced writer. Ghost writers are excellent at expressing what you are saying in a way that makes an impact on readers. 3. MAINTAINING BRAND IMAGE & VOICE ? Tone of voice and brand messaging can be maintained consistently across marketing and communication with a ghostwriter's help. Bylines are important, particularly if you want to put together a portfolio of published work that carries your name as the author.?The credits that you see in the 'Publications' section on my LinkedIn profile, though? Without my name, there are a lot more out there. So, here’s a shout out to ghostwriters! ??THREE GHOSTWRITING PROJECTS I'VE COMPLETED: → Market insights for a global yachting group. → Original articles for superyacht charter books. → Executive reports for superyacht industry publications. The ability to switch things up keeps the work enjoyable and interesting. ??I LOVED THESE 3 RANDOM GHOSTWRITING PROJECTS: → In-flight destination guides for an airline. → Custom brochure copy for a magician who performs at superyacht parties and luxury events. → Marketing content for a 7-day itinerary during the British & Lions rugby tour to New Zealand partnering with luxury travel providers, a yacht charter company and rugby experts. ??WHAT DO I GHOST WRITE FOR YACHTING & LUXURY BRANDS: * Blogs. * Press releases. * Social media posts.? * Thought leadership articles. * Unique content for superyacht charter books. * Website copy including sales & landing pages. *?LinkedIn profiles for professionals targeting high-net-worth customers. * Media kits, especially tying in sponsorship/paid speaking outreach, for professionals growing their personal brand Since most UHNWI and luxury brands want to keep ghostwriters under wraps, discretion is paramount. When my work is published, I do a chair boogie (you know what that is!), but of course if an NDA has been signed or a client hasn't given their approval, it won't be promoted publicly. ?? Questions about ghostwriting? Let me know in the comments below.

Yachting companies are great at talking about themselves! So much so, that they often overlook their customer's pain points and don't ask for feedback from their customers about ways they could improve their operational processes. An example might be how do they like to communicate with you - Do they like to contact you by email, or by online form, or by WhatsApp, or by chat messenger? So is there any part of that process of dealing with you and booking that is a nightmare for them? Because they won't tell you unless you ask them - they just won't use you. And unless you're directly asking them for that feedback they will leave and they will go somewhere else. ?? So shift your focus to the things that might be annoying your customers and then you can offer a solution: https://lnkd.in/eRjbMJue #Communication #Yachts #Maritime #AntibesYachting

?? 2-MINUTE TIPS FOR YACHTING COMPANIES ?? Predictable yacht ads are killing innovation and costing brands relevance. Take this video, for example. I’ve blurred out the faces of the crew and models, but you can still spot 9 real-world yachting brands. Each one stuck in the past, still thinking they need to show models in white linen or neutral-coloured clothes to sell or charter a superyacht. Thank goodness we don’t throw a superyacht fashion reveal because it would be the most unexciting and mundane catwalk event in the world! Yachting brands are slow to break the mould. For years, they’ve obsessed over flawless photos and videos, often aiming for an idealised lifestyle that doesn’t really connect with today’s audience. Your yachting company is unique. Different. Or at least, it should be. Merely imitating repetitive ad formats isn’t enough anymore.? AI,?audio?platforms,?streaming?video,?and?voice?search are?already bringing about?change. Because customers are constantly online, they will ignore or scroll past your marketing if it doesn’t align with their tech preferences or reflect societal changes. Disruption doesn’t always mean being shocking. It all comes down to being agile, creative, and relevant. In a world that is saturated with content, it is about staying ahead of the curve. Superyacht marketing needs more than linen clothes and polished photos.?The most successful global brands don’t just sell products or services, they sell personality. The things that should keep you up at night if you have a yachting company? ? Figuring out how to stand out. ? Thinking about what you can do today, to best position yourself for the future. DM me to discuss how to get your company out of obscurity. #Yachting #Superyachts #Marketing

A little flashback to this feature article earlier this year - it was only the second time my writing has been published in both Serbian and English in the same magazine. Jane Dieu's contemporary paintings have captured the attention of superyacht owners, high-net-worth clients and yacht offices worldwide. With a passion for showcasing the beauty of seascapes and the allure of luxury yachts, her talent speaks volumes. What's even better is I finally got to meet Jane in person at Cannes Yachting Festival and her vibrant personality definitely matches her paintings. If you're looking for a bespoke gift, get in touch with her. ??
