Two years ago, I embarked on a mission close to my heart: to establish Anthony's Villa, drawing from my personal journey as a foster and adoptive parent. Witnessing firsthand the needs within my family and the existing gaps in support services, I was driven to make a difference. Today, I'm proud to share our remarkable progress: ? Achieved official 501(c)3 status ? Attained initial CARF accreditation ? Secured licensing as a Community Mental Health Center ? Successfully opened our first licensed group home ? Developed comprehensive programming from the ground up This week, we celebrate a significant milestone: serving our 100th family. It's a testament to the dedication of our team and the unwavering support from our community. In the coming months, we are poised to revolutionize mental health care through new services including Intensive Home Based Treatment, Expanded Respite Services, and coming School Based Health Centers in our region and beyond. With services spanning Erie, Huron, Ottawa, Seneca, Sandusky, and Wyandot Counties, Anthony's Villa is committed to making a positive impact across Ohio. What began as a singular vision has evolved into a beacon of hope, touching lives through Counseling, Day Treatment, Case Management, TBS, CPST, PSR, IHBT, Respite, and Group Home Services. None of this would be possible without the tireless efforts of our 50-strong team and the generous support of individual and corporate donors. Join us in our mission to continue to expand our services by donating to our fundraiser "Reach for the Stars" here: https://gofund.me/4eb7ace6 I extend my heartfelt gratitude to each of you for being a part of our journey. Great insight from one of our Qualified Mental Health staff! Thanks Brianna Lynn for making a brighter future for children and families in our community!
Excellent source emphasizing the impact nonparental adults such as case workers can have on youth in the foster care system. Youth in the system who have positive relationships with concrete, nonparental adults are more likely to graduate high school, attend college, maintain employment, foster healthy relationships with peers, have higher self-esteem, and have a significant decrease in high-risk behaviors. (Greeson et al., 2015) Mentorship and intervention with at-risk youth is an incredible prevention and early intervention strategy. My favorite part of this? I get the privilege of seeing this happen in real time each day. What are some other ways we can positively impact youth in the foster care system, and how can we implement social change to create more prosperous, motivated, and healthy adults? Reference Greeson, J. K. P., Thompson, A. E., Ali, S., & Wenger, R. S. (2015).
