Registered Nurses (RNs) play a key role in the health care workforce and contribute to the health and well-being of millions of Americans. The profession has been experiencing shortages, which were exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic and are predicted to continue over the next decade.? ? Immigrant workers could help address these needs. As of 2022, there were about 500,000 immigrant nurses in the U.S., accounting for about one in six of the close to 3.2 million RNs. However, immigration remains a hot-button political issue, involving different types of actions that may limit the nursing growth. These actions include the federal government extending its pause on the processing of new visa applications for international nurses.? ? At ANP Health, we want to contribute our grain of sand, and we do so by bringing health professionals to the United States to fill the remaining vacancies in healthcare facilities. However, this pause in the visa process does not help the general growth of nursing, so we believe that the country should open its doors and receive the support of trained international nurses who contribute to the growth of society. After the COVID-19 pandemic the global demand for nurses and clinical practitioners spike to unprecedented levels.
