Let’s get to know Bea, whose can-do attitude, bright smile, and years of experience make her a valued member of the AAC Team. ? Fun Fact: Bea is a Brooklyn native who worked for the New York State Senate for 34 years! As executive assistant to the State Senate Majority Leader, Bea not only managed a busy office and constantly changing schedule; she also worked as an influential liaison building positive relationships with executives, politicians, and community leaders in the public and private sectors. How did you get started?? I attended Hudson Valley Community College and Siena College, where I received a Business Administration degree in Accounting and Management. After that I tested into the New York State secretarial system by taking their stenographer, taxation, and finance courses. Since then, I’ve worked as an administrative assistant at banks, state senate offices, non-profits, and bio-tech companies. What do you like about being an executive assistant?? It can be a busy job, but I like that energy. I like helping people and getting to work to make someone’s life easier. And I enjoy finding ways to streamline routines and make tasks more efficient.? What skills do you think are most important for an executive assistant?? Effective communication is so important. Always ask questions. And staying organized is key, especially when juggling multiple projects. I have a spreadsheet tracker for everything! What do you do to relax?? I love to cook traditional Italian meals like eggplant parmesan. I also like to paint, read detective novels, and go for walks on the beach with my chocolate lab Benson!? ?
