Ankeny Business & Industry Collaborative held the first meeting of 2025 on Friday, February 21 at Snyder & Associates, Inc. Our thanks to Mike Bousselot (Iowa Senate District 21); Heather Matson (Iowa House District 42); and Ryan Weldon (Iowa House District 41) for joining us and providing insights on the current legislative session as well as participating in a panel discussion on economic development, economic growth, workforce development, and property taxes. The latest ABIC Member meeting took place today at CopperWood at Prairie Trail. A special thanks to Dylan Dyer and Danielle Bloxham for graciously hosting and sponsoring the member lunch! Jason Mortvedt, 2025 ABIC Board Chair, took the opportunity to recognize Jenna Kimberley for her outstanding leadership as 2024 Board Chair and to thank Dave Nelson for his dedicated years of service on the board. We had an excellent panel discussion featuring Jenna Kimberley of Kimberley Development Corporation, Marcus Pitts of JLL, and Derek Lord from the City of Ankeny. Their expertise and engaging conversation made for a truly impactful meeting. We sincerely appreciate their commitment to supporting ABIC members and sharing such valuable insights. A great evening at Salute to Industry at The Clubhouse at Talons! Our thanks to DRA Properties for hosting the event! The event honored the local business community and celebrated the contributions of businesses that have made significant economic impacts in Ankeny. ABIC extends its gratitude to the event sponsors, including Community State Bank, DRA Properties, John Deere Des Moines Works, Karl Chevrolet, Lamberti, Murphy & Strong, P.C., Murphy Enterprizes LLC, and the Polk County Board of Supervisors.? As part of this long-standing tradition, the 2024 Salute to Industry Committee recognized winners in several categories, highlighting the achievements of businesses that have played a key role in the area’s economic growth.? We had a wonderful turnout for the August Member Meeting held today at Courtyard by Marriott. Our thanks to Casey's, one of our Platinum Investors, who sponsored the lunch today. Members had an amazing opportunity to hear from Darren Rebelez, Chairman & CEO at Casey's, who shared great information about Casey's growth and the many changes they have made over the last several years! We had a large turnout at our June Member meeting at the Ankeny Community School District office. Big thanks to John Deere Des Moines Works who was our lunch sponsor! David Jones, Ankeny's City Manager, and Derek Lord, Ankeny's Economic Development Director, presented on the "State of Ankeny" and covered a lot of great information about what is happening in Ankeny!
