??The WCAR Board of Directors has retained Anise Search to lead the search for #Executive #Director of the Wallace Center for Arts and Reconciliation. ??Established in 2018, WCAR has converted an Alabama plantation into a sacred gathering space for engaging the hard history of the US - and an unlikely symbol of hope. Co-founded by Black and white descendants of the Wallace place, WCAR embodies courageous leadership, joining a growing vanguard of organizations engaged in the transformative work of racial reconciliation through historical examinations of Southern architecture, material culture, and symbol. Programming includes descendant gatherings, site specific art experiences, heritage festivals, and facilitated opportunities for dialogue and learning. ??Located in Harpersville, Alabama - approximately 30 miles outside of Birmingham - WCAR is in good communion with local genealogists of Black history and justice partners in Birmingham, Montevallo, and Montgomery. ??#ExecutiveProfile is attached.
