Kobra is king of the ? glow up ? (and clearly a master of the perfect puppy pout ??). Kobra arrived at the AWLA in February after being found as a stray. It was immediately obvious Kobra was suffering from severe skin and eye issues. Our veterinary medicine team began treating his skin, making him much more comfortable. When it was time for his neuter, our veterinarian also repaired his bilateral entropian (a condition where both eyelids turn inward, causing eyelashes to rub the eye, leading to irritation and discomfort). Kobra is ready to find a home where he can continue to heal in body and spirit! He's a shy guy at first, but has made many people and dog friends recently. Whoa wait, how many dogs found homes this weekend?! ?? Chica had to get a little closer because she's not sure she heard us right. Well, our adoptable dogs may not actually be Irish, but we can pretend, right? ?? Starting Friday, March 14, we are hosting a fee-waived adoption event for all dogs 40+ pounds through St. Patrick's Day on Monday, March 17. Sadly, large breed dogs statistically have the longest stays in animal shelters across the country. While you may not have considered adopting a medium to large-sized pup, there can be many great benefits. Our adoption staff will be ready to assist in the matchmaking process and help you find your "pup of gold" at the end of the rainbow. ?? Make plans to meet all of the o'vailable dogs! Canine class is in session, pups! ?? We're now enrolling for ALL Alexandria Animal Academy 2025 sessions. The next session begins Sunday, March 30. We have 3 virtual learning tracks for shy/fearful, high-energy, and leash reactive dogs. The low-cost canine behavior classes are open to anyone (you don't have to be an ALX resident). The virtual 7-week course includes group and individual instruction with personalized training plans.
