Fuel price volatility is nothing new, but the stakes have never been higher. With fluctuating markets impacting everything from customer pricing to profitability, navigating these shifts can feel like steering through a storm. But here's the truth: volatility doesn't have to mean chaos. **One way we recommend navigating volatility is by leveraging hedging wisely.** By utilizing hedging strategies like price protection programs, you can lock in margins and reduce exposure to sudden spikes or drops in fuel prices. The tip above works because we've guided our customers accordingly to help them be successful, but navigating price swings requires preparation, flexibility, and a data-driven approach. When Tanks Don’t Share: Winning the Battle of Uneven Burn Recently, one of our team members worked with a client on a complex tank configuration that was affecting delivery forecasting. The Challenge: A customer had two 275-gallon tanks in their basement connected only at the fill point. While this setup allowed simultaneous filling, each tank fed separate pieces of equipment, leading to uneven fuel consumption. One tank frequently ran dry, while the other remained partially full—throwing off forecasting and delivery schedules. The Solution: Our team recommended a tailored approach: 1. Install a Gremlin Oil Monitor: Focus on the faster-burning tank to track its inventory more accurately. 2. Adjust System Geometry: Configure the monitor and back-office system to account for the unique setup without disrupting deliveries. 3. Add Clear Delivery Notes: Ensure drivers are fully informed of the dual-tank configuration and its quirks. 4. Switch to Scheduled Deliveries: Align delivery timing with the fast-burning tank’s needs. 5. Long-Term Fix: Recommend installing a crossover connection after the season to balance fuel consumption between the tanks. This collaborative approach from our team not only resolved the immediate issue but also set the stage for efficiency in the future. Three things you should ask yourself regarding tank monitoring… **Are you getting more than just device specs?** It’s easy to focus on the technical details—battery life, installation ease, or connectivity range. But the real value comes from how well the system integrates with your operations. **Is your monitoring turning data into action?** Tank monitors generate a wealth of information, but data alone doesn’t solve problems. You need to leverage that data to optimize delivery schedules, reduce costs, and prevent runouts. **Are you prepared to move from reactive to proactive operations?** Proactive operations save time, reduce stress, and improve customer satisfaction, turning monitoring from a reactive safety net into a proactive business tool. The goal of monitoring isn’t just to know—it’s to act. The real value comes from the?expertise, analytics, and insights, transforming basic monitoring into a strategic advantage. At Angus Energy we help unlock the full value of tank monitoring with tools and know how to keep you?ahead of the game. —>?https://lnkd.in/eNUD-A-9 #TankMonitoring #ProactiveSolutions #EnergyEfficiency #DataDrivenDecisions #AngusEnergy

Let's Talk About Scalability If you've been in this industry long enough, you know that "scaling" means being agile enough to meet rising demand during peak seasons and flexible enough to conserve resources during slower periods. Three lessons in scalability we've taught our clients over the years: 1. Seasonal Demand:?Winter surges can be brutal, even for the most prepared teams. The ones that thrive are those who plan ahead and adapt on the fly. 2. Resource Allocation:?Assigning trucks, drivers, and routes isn't something you can just wing. The best results come when decisions are backed by solid data. 3. Operational Precision:?Tracking tank levels and tweaking delivery patterns also means knowing how to cut waste and keep customers happy. A Thought to Leave You With:?Scalability is a mindset as much as it is a strategy. It's about empowering your team, leveraging your tools, and creating processes that adapt as your business grows. If you want to learn more about how Angus Energy can consult with your business and teach you these lessons and more, let us know →?https://lnkd.in/eNUD-A-9 #FuelIndustry #BusinessGrowth #Scalability #OperationalExcellence

Tank Monitors Need Monitoring… But Why? While devices like the GREMLIN monitor play a big role in gathering data, the real value of tank monitoring goes way beyond the hardware itself. This is where technology must work in collaboration with the human brain. Technology ?? Human Experience & Insight - Tank monitors show trends and send alerts when issues arise, but they can’t determine the “why” behind a problem. A team monitoring the data can detect patterns and address issues before they escalate. - While tank monitors can’t account for situational factors like weather conditions, customer usage habits, or operational changes. A team can interpret the data within the right context to make informed decisions. - By regularly analyzing monitor data, we can optimize delivery schedules, reduce runouts, and prevent unnecessary trips, saving time and resources. Data isn’t just numbers; it’s insight waiting to be unlocked. At Angus Energy, we go beyond hardware to provide: ?? Exception reporting to catch anomalies. ?? Proactive analytics to guide smarter decisions. ?? Optimization strategies that enhance efficiency and profitability.
