Through this community mapping initiative, we aim to pinpoint the areas most impacted by gun violence in The Bronx. This approach will not only respond to this public health crisis, but also invest in long-term measures addressing the root causes and societal factors. Leveraging your organization's expertise and commitment, this mapping project will yield insights to inform and empower our collective efforts in creating safer, more resilient communities for young people in The Bronx.
This past weekend RomoGIS was fortunate enough to be invited to the #Bronx Borough of #NYC to present on our recent work on gun violence reduction with the Angellyh Yambo Foundation. We spoke at the Youth Gun Violence Prevention Summit and presented on our recent work mapping gun violence in the Bronx using CARTO. This weekend’s summit was a great kickoff event to a much larger collaboration with RomoGIS and the Angellyh Yambo Foundation performing community mapping for local change. We were so thankful for the collaboration and the opportunity to inspire and support community leaders in their work to create safer communities and use #GIS4Good.
