At the heart of seamless legacy and estate planning for families with multigenerational wealth families is financial literacy. ? In a recent article for WealthManagement.com, our managing director Rick Nott, CFA, CFP?, CPWA? outlines practical strategies for empowering heirs to be financial stewards for their family. His piece discusses how to build a legacy of financial responsibility, how parents can offer valuable advice when leading by example and how to initiate crucial money conversations early in childrens’ lives. ? “Conversations about money should be ongoing and adapted to your child’s age and life stage. Teaching them to understand the difference between needs and wants, the dangers of comparison and the true purpose of money will not only help them make better financial decisions but will also foster a healthy relationship with money,” wrote Rick. “This will prepare them to be responsible stewards of the legacy you’ve built, making the inevitable discussions about their inheritance seamless when they’re older. The time to start these basic financial literacy conversations is now.” ? Following yesterday’s Fed meeting, Angeles Investments managing partner and CIO Michael Rosen shared his reaction to the quarter-point rate cut, noting that the move was fully anticipated by the market. He also highlighted the Fed’s updated stance on inflation, which it acknowledged remains elevated – a shift that has led to a slight sell-off in Treasuries. ? "The reality is that inflation remains above target, the economy is humming above trend, and the Fed will have to moderate its easing program," noted Michael. "The market is adjusting to this more measured pace of easing by pushing yields higher." Read more in Reuters. https://lnkd.in/gq6ubg3k

Global equity and bond returns were negative in October. The S&P 500 returned -0.7% while the MSCI ACWI decreased -2.3%, and developed non-U.S. equities (MSCI EAFE) fell -5.4%. In the U.S., growth stocks outperformed value. The Bloomberg Aggregate Bond Index returned -3.4% and U.S. High Yield returned -0.5%. U.S. CPI slowed its advance, as the year-over-year inflation rate decreased from 2.6% through August to 2.4% as of September 2024. ? After a strong end to the third quarter, both stock and fixed income markets performed poorly in October. Volatility in the markets, along with uncertainty due to the upcoming US election, policy shifts on inflation and interest rates, and recession slowed down the economic momentum. Fixed income markets are expected to continue experiencing volatility, while additional policy cuts from the Fed are expected in the subsequent months. #stocks #markets #investmentadvisor #investmentadvice #investing #wealthmanagement #stockmarket #equities #investments
