At the recent Industry Advisory Board meeting, John Smalley, Vice Chair, and I had the privilege of recognizing Dr. Tan Qu, Ph.D., P.E. for his exceptional contributions to Seminole State’s 2-year and 4-year Construction Management programs. Dr. Qu has played a pivotal role in the department's growth, including securing the 4-year bachelor's degree accreditation from the American Council for Construction Education (ACCE). Under his mentorship, our students' design-build team placed 1st and 3rd in two national DBIA championships, beating some of the nation's oldest and most prestigious Construction Management programs. Additionally, I’m excited to begin my two-year term as Chair of the SSC Construction Management Industry Advisory Board (IAB). The IAB plays a vital role in shaping the future of the construction workforce, and this is a cause I’m deeply passionate about.
