关于我们

Anderson Lock Company was founded with a vision for providing security solutions for commercial, industrial and institutional facilities. Now, in its third generation, led by Cortney Anderson Wascher, it has been transformed from a hardware store, to a locksmith service company, to a total door opening supplier with an emphasis on doors, frames and electronic access controls. Anderson Lock was built by establishing relationships with customers at nearby O’Hare Airport, and with hospitals and school districts that required heavy-duty, reliable, products and service. Anderson Lock is a trusted source for security door hardware, and a reliable resource for expert technical advice. Today, Anderson Lock has 100+ employees at two locations.

No matter which candidate you cast your ballot for come election day this November, there is one issue that both sides agree on without question: safeguarding our children from school shootings. Expressing concern for the safety of our growing children, J.D. Vance - Ohio Senator and Vice Presidential candidate - stated that schools should increase their security, urgently! “I don't want my kids to go to school in a school that feels unsafe or where there are visible signs of security, but I unfortunately think that we have to increase security in our schools. We have to make the doors lock better. We have to make the doors stronger“, Vance said. Echoing this sentiment, Minnesota Governor and Vice Presidential candidate, Tim Walz, agreed with Vance. “We have a responsibility to our kids to figure this out”, he said. This is a shared responsibility for a safer tomorrow. Parents, teachers, and school administrators - and politicians - share this responsibility of preventing harm and maintaining an utmost level of safety for the next generation. Classroom lockdowns are an essential part of that protection, offering a proven way to keep children safe during emergencies. Unfathomable events like the recent Apalachee High School shooting remind us that we must take every precaution to defend our schools.?DHI - Door Security + Safety Professionals (DHI) and DOOR SECURITY & SAFETY FOUNDATION (DSSF)?advise school districts and legislators to consult with door security and safety professionals, as soon as possible. At Anderson Lock, we are committed to helping schools implement comprehensive lockdown systems that work when they are needed most. By partnering with educational institutions, architects, and security teams, we ensure that every school is prepared for the unimaginable. We work to provide a simple, fast solution when emergencies arise. Hardwired or wireless access system doors allow for a complete lockdown with a single press of a button. With this fast solution, teachers can lock their classroom doors, preventing unauthorized access and giving law enforcement time to arrive and neutralize the threat. In these moments, when every second counts, the ability to secure students quickly is top priority to ensuring their safety. A risk assessment and school safety plan must be undertaken by an interagency, multidisciplinary team with one person serving as the team leader. The risk assessment will help you prioritize safety and security enhancements. By taking action now, you can schedule your complimentary school safety evaluation by calling Anderson Lock today 1-800-323-5625 https://lnkd.in/gbQn55PV. #schoolsafety #schooldesign Cortney Anderson Wascher, RL Laura Miller Juliana Sannasardo

As you consider adding new technology to your residential communities, be sure to consider the needs of today’s aging population. Smart locks, for instance, allow you to enjoy peace of mind and freedom from keys. The technology is designed to perform locking and unlocking operations upon receiving instructions from an authorized device using a wireless protocol. They also monitor access and send alerts for events they monitor, and other critical events related to the status of the lock. Installation and programming are easy. Our team recently visited the kind and loving people at Westminster Place care community in Evanston, IL, to upgrade doors with a new Schlage electronic access system. This is in the Chicago suburbs, offering Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, and more senior care options. Knowing the range of resident needs, this Schlage access control system will provide the safest environment within this senior living setting. It's time to say goodbye to lost, stolen and forgotten keys. At Anderson Lock, we asked our Project Managers about the trends they are seeing in multi-unit living communities. Here are a few of their recommendations: 1. Property Managers can now keep an eye on their buildings from anywhere, and also have an audit trail that allows them to see who enters each room, and when. 2. Replacing Mortise locks with the new electronic access systems brings peace of mind. Don’t despair, your existing doors can be retrofitted with new key pass locks. 3. Upgrading from mechanical keys is helping to protect residents. We are seeing a big increase in key card/lanyard usage because this helps aging tenants, even those who are dealing with memory loss. These networks are focused on providing only authorized?access to rooms, while also creating an audit trail that allows facilities managers to see who has entered which rooms and when. 4. Property managers should be aware that most facilities with mechanical keys have had them forever. The concern is that they do not know how many keys have been made, and in many cases there are so many that the security is very compromised. By adding built-in intelligence and communication technology, Schlage Locks mobile enabled locks, NDE mobile enabled cylindrical locks, MTB readers and CTE controller can help your staff improve efficiency and convenience for your facility by securing every opening. From #seniorliving communities, small retail spaces, to complex university campuses and healthcare systems, we can help you put together solutions for every access point. https://lnkd.in/g2MmDDB2 To help you determine which approach is right for the property you manage, let us guide you to a system that meets your facility’s needs and budget. Multi-unit housing is a buoyant sector across the country. It typically thrives in strong economic times and hardens to inflationary pressures. As we follow the trends, we can see that renters these days cover the gambit from younger to older. These are no longer just the college grads in their 20’s, kicking-off their careers and saving-up to ultimately purchase a home and live out the American dream of home ownership. These are now people of all ages from 20-something to 90+ who want more than an isolated apartment to reside in. People are often looking for long term, and even high-end residences that are accompanied by common space, swimming pool, workout rooms, pet patios, and even yoga studios and small movie theaters. Close care of amenity spaces, technology, and shared areas are essential for #propertymanagers to maintain high renewal rates. Securing the various common and private spaces in these multi-tenant buildings while prioritizing the safety and well-being of residents can be a challenge for managers seeking a reliable, ongoing solution. Developing a comprehensive security plan that addresses a range of potential threats is essential for enhancing overall safety. At Anderson Lock, our team?has created a guide that provides practical tips and best practices to help design and maintain a robust security system to promote a safe and secure living environment for all residents. Key steps to enhanced security include: 1. Installing advanced access control systems and surveillance cameras. 2. Ensuring proper lighting throughout the property. 3. Hiring onsite security personnel. “When you lose anyone connected to a school, it’s so horrible, so tragic, and we all grieve, we all feel it.”? - Pamela Parks, high school counselor, Gwinnett County, GA. Tragically, we have recently heard of yet another devastating situation involving gun violence in a school. The team at Anderson Lock would like to thank the leadership of DHI - Door Security + Safety Professionals (DHI) and DOOR SECURITY & SAFETY FOUNDATION (DSSF) for issuing a joint statement in response to the Apalachee High School incident: “On behalf of DHI and DSSF, we are devastated to hear of yet another tragic incident involving gun violence at a school,” said Lewis Smith, CFDAI, President of the DHI Board of Governors. "While such violence is not completely preventable, and circumstance vary with each tragedy, there are actionable measures and safety precautions, specifically pertaining to doors and locks, which can and should be taken to mitigate loss of life.” DHI and DSSF jointly call on school districts and legislators to work with door security and safety professionals to assess and implement life-saving security measures. On September 4th, two students and two teachers were killed and nine more victims were injured during a shooting at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia. As details about this horrific attack continue to emerge, DHI and DSSF emphasize the importance of door security and safety within the schools where our precious children thrive. As the leading door safety and security experts in the field, DHI and DSSF, these organizations encourage school districts to work with certified professionals who are skillfully trained to assess and recommend door and hardware solutions that can ultimately save lives. Thank you to James Gammon, MBA, CFDAI, Jim Tartre, and Lewis Smith, CFDAI President, for leading the way as you keep our communities safe. Our team at Anderson Lock is encouraging all building professionals to examine your facilities to ensure that new national standards are met. Levels of Security Required for Building Openings: Level 1 –?Basic?level of control and security.? Openings are flush and may or may not have a visible glass area within the door. Level 2 –?Intermediate?level of control and security.? Openings are flush or have a visible glass area within the door. Level 3 –?High?level of control and security.? Openings are flush or have a visible glass area within the door. They are securely latched, locked, and swing out. We highly recommend reviewing the DSSF ‘Are Your Door Openings Secure?’ report, outlining recommendations for levels of security required for building openings: https://lnkd.in/gskC5pWd To help you determine which system is right for the building you are responsible for, reach out to us to receive an overview of excellent solutions. 1-800-323-5625 https://lnkd.in/grij3cUy Cortney Anderson Wascher, RL Juliana Sannasardo Laura Miller
