The NBCUniversal Campus Project, designed by LEVER and Field Operations, is a transformation of the Universal Studios Lot into a 21st century creative campus. The project’s synthesis of inspiring new architecture and landscapes establishes a campus heart and renewed sense of place on the historic lot. ? ? LEVER designed two new buildings as part of the target LEED Platinum project. ? The Commons, whose circular form echoes early animation’s zoetropes, is an 84,000-square-foot gathering space with a dining hall, state-of-the-art theater, two screening rooms, and a rooftop event center. ? One Universal is a 350,000-square-foot, 11-story office building with a full floor of shared amenities to encourage community and collaboration within the context of a high-rise building. ? Both buildings open to new landscapes by Field Operations that activate the campus with lawns, tree-lined promenades, and outdoor workspaces. ? The project was realized in collaboration with many including House & Robertson Architects, Hathaway Dinwiddie, and Studio Shamshiri among others.
