The Oregon State University Jen-Hsun Huang and Lori Mills Huang Collaborative Innovation Complex is really starting to take shape! All beams and columns on this beautiful mass timber project are sourced directly from Oregon State University teaching forest lands. Using 3D modeling, the team has developed unique structural connection details that are fabricated solely with the use of modern and efficient CNC machinery. Huge thank you to all of our partners on this innovative project!

Last Month, Brad Nile, Project Executive at Andersen, led a class on Intro to Construction Drawings for Professional Business Development Group (PBDG) members. He shared his knowledge and expertise in construction and his dedication to supporting minority subcontractors and small businesses. By taking the time to guide and teach, he has made a lasting impact on PBDG members, equipping them with valuable skills they can apply for years to come. It was a fantastic turnout, and we appreciate everyone who participated. Thank you, Brad, for your invaluable contribution to empowering the next generation of construction professionals!

As #WomenInConstructionWeek comes to a close, we wanted to highlight each of our regions gatherings from the past week! We hosted happy hours with our partners, gathered for lunch, and did some bowling. In Idaho, the Mayor of Boise, Mayor McLean, joined our happy hour event and spoke about women in the construction industry! We're actively working to create more inclusive and supportive job sites and spaces, whether that’s expanding access to career pathways for women in the trades, providing women only restrooms on site, ensuring dedicated pumping spaces for nursing moms, and continuing to connect with women in our industry. True progress means continuing to listen, learn, and take action so that every person, regardless of gender, has the resources and support they need to build a thriving career in construction. We’re committed to that future, and to working alongside our teams, trade partners, and industry leaders to make it happen every day. #BuildingTheFuture #InclusionInTrades #ProgressInAction

For over 40 years, ANEW has been paving the way for women and underrepresented groups to enter the construction industry through pre-apprenticeship programs, financial support, and hands-on training. As a long-time partner, Andersen has supported ANEW through mentorship, funding, and volunteer efforts — because when we invest in workforce development, we invest in the future of our industry. Shoutout to Aileen, our Community and Employee Advocate in our Seattle office, who helps cohorts discover construction opportunities, find a company that values you, and seek a mentor. By strengthening these pathways, we’re not just supporting today’s workforce — we’re ensuring the next generation of women have the skills, confidence, and opportunities to build lasting careers in construction. Mentorship plays a powerful role in shaping careers, especially for women in industries where they are underrepresented. Research shows that having role models significantly impacts career aspirations, with 70% of people saying they are more likely to pursue a field when they see someone like them succeeding in it (Source: Cureus.com). That’s why programs like the ACE Mentor Program of America matter. Through our partnership with ACE, we provide support through board participation, mentoring, jobsite tours, summer internships, and hosting ACE meetings. Additionally, we offer financial support through the annual Andersen Foundation Golf Tournament and fundraising luncheons. Summer, Project Engineer at Andersen and mentor for the ACE Mentor Program of Idaho, Holly, Estimator at Andersen and Vice Chair of the ACE Mentor Program of Oregon, and Emily, Portland Regional Estimating Manager at Andersen and Board Member of the ACE Mentor Program of Oregon, are making a direct impact — guiding and inspiring the next generation of builders. By investing in mentorship, we’re not just supporting women — we’re strengthening the future of our industry. At Andersen Construction, we believe that building a more equitable and inclusive construction industry starts long before someone steps onto a job site. That’s why we’ve proudly supported Girls Build since its founding in 2016 — helping introduce young girls to the world of building and showing them that construction is a place where they belong. Through funding, materials, and hundreds of volunteer hours, we’ve worked alongside Girls Build to create hands-on learning experiences that inspire confidence and curiosity. And now, we’re excited to bring Girls Build camps to Boise, Idaho this summer — because every girl deserves the chance to explore, create, and see themselves in this field. As Katie at Girls Build puts it: “The Andersen Foundation has been a critical part of Girls Build’s growth journey. From being our first funder to the small but important things, like prepping materials or moving the playhouses we build, they are always ready to help. I can’t imagine Girls Build being where we are today without Andersen.” Representation matters. When young girls see that they have a place in construction, they grow up knowing they belong here. #WomenInConstructionWeek #GirlsBuild #BuildingBelonging #FutureBuilders
