This kind of feedback absolutely fills my heart ?? Yes, being a working mother can be challenging, and whilst we can't change some of these challenges there's a lot that we can do to alleviate it - and our intention with this event was to make things that little bit easier for mothers and mothers to be by providing much needed information and provoking different ways of thinking. Thank you Rakhi Sachdeva for your words, hopefully this advice can travel far and wide into your network of working mothers who will come after you?? Sr. Modern Workplace Specialist @ Microsoft | Future of Work ? Women in Tech Excellence Outstanding Returner 2023 Finalist
???#SmallBusinessAppreciationPost??? Two weeks ago, I attended a session titled 'From Bump??to Boardroom??' hosted by a company called And Beyond. I simply?? their mission 'Empower women returning from maternity leave to?THRIVE?in the workplace'. Having taken 12 months of maternity leave with my first born, I understand first-hand the profound benefits of this time for physical recovery, mental well-being and bonding with a ??. However, I also recognize the challenges it presents for women who are passionate about their careers and eager to progress - I definetely experienced some real FOMO ???? So as I prepare for the second innings, I was particularly inspired by their practical tips on how to?Return Strong. ? One standout piece of advice was to make sure you have a way to remind yourself of your abilities and accomplishments: ? Keeping track of your successes ? Documenting External/Internal feedback ? Creating a support system of mentors and peers All of these can serve as powerful motivators as you transition back to work. Remember, self-confidence can dip significantly for anyone returning from a long break hence taking proactive steps to rebuild your confidence is crucial. ?? So whether you’re embarking on this new chapter in your own life or know someone in your team who is going through a life change, share this with them to highlight resources like? And Beyond?and help them ease their return to work. Massive thank you to?Stephanie Taylor?and?Tina Shepherd?for your tireless efforts in running the Maternity and Returnity ERG. Last week Takako Elliott and I did a thing! You may have seen my posts banging on about it! You may not have. But And Beyond From Bump to Boardroom happened. And we were so pleased with how it went. Getting emails and messages such as "just did my first maternity webinar and it was soooo helpful", and "we've just had such great feedback from the people we sent to your event today!" really reminded us WHY we run this consultancy. Companies that see the benefit in supporting parents are officially THE BEST. The BEST for society The BEST for their employees The BEST for productivity The BEST for future proofing our workplaces #inclusiveculture #workingparents #workingmums #workingdads

Some reflections from running our event last week...: ? SO much gratitude for the kindness and willingness of so many people to support us. Any act, big or small, means an incredible amount when you're trying to bring a project to life, which is so close to your heart. If someone you know is planning something or needs support, please do what you can - it will mean more to them than you'll probably ever know. ? Importance of your network and community. Ultimately, your business is only as strong as the network that you have. Nurturing these networks and deepening trust and connection is the key to everything. ? If you can dream it, you can make it happen. This event was just a tiny idea 6 months ago, and it felt a bit too big for us to embark on. And yet we made it happen, still can't quite believe we did it! ? It takes a lot more time, energy and effort to plan and run an event than I ever expected. It's been such a great learning curve for us, and it's definitely worth stretching yourself to discover where the gaps are. ? Made us realise how much more there is to do. Even though we thought the ticket prices were really reasonable, it was apparent that even this was too much - or there just wasn't the consideration that this would be of benefit to so many. There is so much more that I could share, but these are probably the top ones. A massive thank you to every single person that came along and made it the success it was, feedback is still coming in but everyone has been really positive about it so far - which has been a real joy to hear. And of course a huge thank you to all our inspirational speakers, thank you for your wisdom and enthusiasm - we couldn’t have done it without you. Really proud of what we put together Jessica Rosevear, until next time...!

One day to go until our event - From Bump to Boardroom! If you know any colleagues, friends or family members who are pregnant/on mat leave/new working mums - then don’t scroll past! The act of sharing this event might make more of a difference to them than you could ever know - the challenges that they face might be very well hidden but it’s there…and it can feel really lonely going through it on your own. So please do share with anyone that’s going through this phase in their life, or even better buy them a ticket to show your support for this hugely transitional time! Buy your tickets here now: https://lnkd.in/e7wSn3zW #inclusiveculture #workingparents #workingmums #pregnancy #maternity #returntowork

I had a really interesting chat with Zoe Scaman this week, who is currently researching Motherhood in Adland. The stories that people have shared with her so far are generally not very positive ones I'm afraid... To share your experience of being a working mother with her, please click here - https://lnkd.in/edNjQQdU Why am I sharing this? Because through our work at And Beyond, we are really trying to make things better wherever we can, wherever companies will listen and choose to do the work to make it a more positive experience for working mothers. And this virtual event we are doing next week is going to be exactly that. An event that people can dip in and out of, and watch the recordings of if they can't make all sessions. We've already had companies come forward and bulk buy tickets for their employees who are pregnant, on mat leave or that have just returned. Can you get your company to do the same? They can buy tickets via our website https://lnkd.in/e7wSn3zW #inclusiveculture #workingparents #workingmums #maternityleave #pregnancy #returntowork

I wanted to share a brief overview on the sessions that I’ll be running next week: ??Who are you, now that you’re a working mum? I think this is a huge question that so many of us don’t spend enough time thinking about, and without clarity around who we are and what we want we can lose motivation, focus and energy. I want to share some thoughts and questions for you to think about, so that we can be a lot clearer on what we want for ourselves as well as our family, and ultimately bring about more fulfilment in life! ??Returning strong: Sharing tips on all the things you need to prepare for your return - logistically as well as mentally. There may be some unexpected things in there which will equip you in the best possible way for a return that feels good. Can’t wait to share all this with you next week!xx #returntowork #workingmum #maternity #pregnancy #workingparents #inclusiveculture #mentalhealth
