So thankful for the continued research into treatment and prevention of dementia! This seems promising! A recent study from Swedish national registers (2010-2020) has shed light on the effects of different diabetes medications on dementia risk in older adults with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM). They compared GLP-1 agonists, DPP-4 inhibitors, and sulfonylureas among 88,381 participants aged 65 and older. ?? Here’s what they found: - GLP-1 agonists were linked to a significantly lower risk of dementia compared to both sulfonylureas and DPP-4 inhibitors. - GLP-1 agonist users had an incidence rate of 6.7 dementia cases per 1000 person-years, versus 11.8 for DPP-4 inhibitors and 13.7 for sulfonylureas. - Adjusted analyses showed GLP-1 agonists reduced dementia risk by 31% compared to sulfonylureas and 23% compared to DPP-4 inhibitors. We're hopeful that more clinical trials will continue to validate these results and help improve the lives of older adults with T2DM. #DiabetesResearch #GLP1Agonists #DementiaPrevention #HealthcareInnovation #MedicalResearch #T2DM #HealthyAging #ThankfulForResearch #anchorpuzzles https://lnkd.in/gVCbUbNm.

What are some changes we can make in our diet for a healthy brain? ?? Check out these four simple yet effective nutrition tips that can help boost your overall health and well-being: 1?? Increase your fiber intake: Incorporate more whole grains, fruits, and vegetables into your meals to boost your fiber intake. Fiber helps support digestive health, regulates blood sugar levels, and promotes satiety. 2?? Get more polyphenols: Load up on colorful fruits and vegetables, nuts, seeds, and whole grains to increase your intake of polyphenols. These powerful antioxidants help reduce inflammation, support heart health, and protect against chronic diseases. 3?? Eat foods rich in probiotics: Incorporate probiotic-rich foods like yogurt, kefir, sauerkraut, and kimchi into your diet to promote gut health and support a strong immune system. Probiotics help maintain a healthy balance of beneficial bacteria in the gut, which is essential for overall well-being. 4?? Use more herbs and spices: Experiment with a variety of herbs and spices to add flavor and nutrition to your meals. Herbs and spices are rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals, and they can help enhance the taste of your dishes without adding extra calories or sodium. By making these simple changes, you can nourish your body and brain with the nutrients it needs to thrive! ?? #HealthyEating ???? #NutritionTips ?? https://lnkd.in/gZMPkhS5
