Part of the joy of working at Ancestry is bearing witness to the incredible stories people share with us about their family history discoveries. One of the most emotional and uplifting stories of recent times came to us last year when we began helping a woman named Chantal Doecke retrace the journey she went on as a baby, and eventually make a discovery that would change her life forever. You can watch Chantal tell her story on live TV and talk about the role Ancestry played here: https://lnkd.in/gB8_c-_4 #AncestryforAll #DNA #FamilyHistory

Ancestry is proud to share that it has been named to the Women Tech Council's 2025 #ShatterList for the 7th consecutive year. Compiled annually, the Shatter List honors companies that are enabling women in technology to break the proverbial glass ceiling for women in tech fields. “I’m incredibly proud of this achievement as it reflects the important work happening across our company and is a testament to the dedication of our fantastic EmpowHer employee resource group which has been going strong for 11 years.” - Ashlee Davis (she/her), Global Head of Talent Development and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at Ancestry. #WeAreAncestry #Wearethecurious

Ancestry and the New York City Department of Records - Municipal Archives have partnered together to digitize 18 million voter registration records from 1915 - 1956, unlocking a treasure trove of New York City’s history. Now available across Ancestry platforms, this collection offers a rare look into the city’s past through the voting records of some of its most notable residents. This new collection, not only unlocks new discoveries for our customer, it also marks a milestone achievement in how Ancestry is leveraging #AI and #ML. The records were digitized from the original bound volumes and indexed using a proprietary handwriting recognition process—the first-ever non-census records to be processed and published using this cutting-edge technology. #WeAreAncestry #Wearethecurious

At this year's #RootsTech, Hunter Cannon, Ancestry Staff Product Manager, showcased some of our latest AI and ML-powered product features, including advanced photo scanning, handwriting recognition, and transcription and translation capabilities, all designed for preservation and to uncover even more discoveries. #RootsTech2025 #WeAreAncestry #Wearethecurious

Today marks the start of Women's History Month. Here at Ancestry we are celebrating the many women who paved the way for us, including those featured in the 1921 Census of England and Wales. After the impact of WWI, there were an additional 1.7 million women to men in the census, leading to many women being left as head of the household. We are honoring the pioneering women who not only showed strength and courage in their everyday lives, but also made important journey's across to places like Australia and Canada. We are offering Free Access to the 1921 Census of England and Wales, plus over 400 million records from 1st - 9th March in UK, AU, and CA markets. Particular thanks to Joanna S. for all the hours and guidance in producing 3 incredible brand ads for these markets. Watch our latest UK brand video here, and head over to Ancestry to discover the inspiring women in your family.

To mark Women’s History Month in the UK and launch our 1921 Census of England and Wales campaign, Ancestry hosted a panel event in London last week. The topic of discussion centred on the gender disparity in how women of the 20th century have been remembered and celebrated versus their male counterparts. Participating in the panel we were joined by actress, singer, presenter and politician Baroness Floella Benjamin, TV presenter and women’s right’s spokesperson Ashley Louise James, entrepreneur Nishma Patel Robb 🪩⚡️, Ellie Djerir from Historic England and family history expert at Ancestry Laura House, MSc. The lively discussion concluded with a call to arms to discover potential female trailblazers within the 1921 Census of England and Wales who remain undiscovered and worthy of recognition. https://lnkd.in/gVCCtW9j
