"After 40 years of history as Hotopp, I felt it was time to lean into who we have now become. I have been at the helm for more than 10 years and during that time, we’ve evolved and expanded the services we offer, how we define the work we do, our process, and our values. I am excited to share that in recognition of that change we are currently transforming into a new version of ourselves…Analog Heart Creative Studio. Why Analog Heart? First off, I feel fortunate to have grown up in a technological “hump generation.” I built things with my hands, developed photos in a darkroom, learned old school theater techniques for construction and rigging, drew and drafted with a pencil, blueprinted drawings. I can still smell the ammonia! Eventually many of our tools became digital and as a company we embrace them. But my heart is still analog, and I value the fact that everything we create exists physically for people to experience together, in the real world and outside of their screens. Additionally, when I really think about what drives us as creatives and craftspeople, it’s very much about feelings; how we feel doing the work, how our clients feel seeing their ideas come to life, and how audiences feel experiencing what we create. Like the world of theater that we came from, it is more of an art than a science, an alchemic collaborative process through which we get to make one-of-a-kind things alongside people we care about and respect. After 40 years, Hotopp is now Analog Heart. It's a shift we've been building toward as we've evolved, which is a testament to everyone that's been at the helm throughout our history. It feels natural because it aligns how we present ourselves to the world with how we approach our work. It looks different because we are different.
