Good Morning, Everyone. Today is Cornell Giving Day. A donation to Anabel's, no matter how big or small, will help signal to the university administration how much Anabel's is loved by students on campus as well as those who have graduated. Please consider donating here: https://lnkd.in/eVRfvk8K The link expires at midnight! As you know, Anabel’s uses a subsidy fund to help maintain our low prices to provide students with essential products at affordable prices. However, our subsidy fund is finite. Your gift today will help the students replenish this fund and keep the amazing local produce, eggs, and whole foods affordable for all. Thank you!

?On this Giving Tuesday, as the semester draws to a close, we’d like to reflect on another successful term at Anabel's Grocery. Our efforts to provide affordable and nutritious food to Cornellians would not be possible without you —?our incredible customers, alumni, and supporters. In providing fresh groceries to over 600 customers per week and over 20,000 unique customers to date, Anabel’s has become a critical resource on campus. However, we rely on donations to provide essential produce and pantry staples at low prices and ensure that our local partners are fairly compensated. If you have the financial means, we would greatly appreciate your support to enable us to expand our impact. Anabel's is intentional about investing in Ithaca’s vibrant food economy. We source over 75% of our products from vendors in or around Tompkins County, amounting to $112,000 spent on local farmers, bakers, and other producers last year alone. We’ve also strengthened our partnerships with our 25 local vendors: Examples include Laurie’s Grain-Free Bakehouse, a mother-son duo that provide us with our gluten-free breads and muffins; Fort Baptist Farm, one of five local farms that provide us with an abundance of produce; and Wide Awake Bakery, our source of artisanal bread and granola. Community-building and outreach are two other cornerstones of our work. This semester, we’ve hosted a community dinner in collaboration with Cornell’s very own Dilmun Hill Student Farm, partnered with the Prisoner Express Program to grow its pen-pal initiative with incarcerated individuals, and launched a Free Food Fridge alongside four other Cornell student organizations. Whether you have been part of our community for years or recently learned about our mission, your financial support will enable us to continue providing fresh, nutritious, and low-cost groceries for students, fund educational programs centered on sustainable food systems, and expand our offerings to support more local vendors. Every dollar makes a difference, and we would greatly appreciate your support! Happy holidays from the entire Anabel’s team ?? Click here to donate to Anabel’s: https://lnkd.in/d2e5v9cj? ~ P.S. Please consider making your donation a recurring gift to help us ensure that Anabel's remains a vibrant, accessible, and impactful part of the Cornell community for the years to come.

I just heard that VP of Students and Campus Life, Ryan Lombardi,?will likely accept Dean of Students Marla Love's recommendation that CTA be given a 3-year affiliation agreement, after which they would terminate our affiliation with Cornell and 'take back' the endowment income we've enjoyed since 1971. If you feel comfortable, advocating on our behalf would be very helpful. Although I?don't have the official word yet, asking Ryan to support a continued 10-year agreement with CTA (the affiliation agreement has been approved for every 10 years since 1971), with our current funding, seems appropriate while there is still time to inform his final decision.? Closing CTA would mean Anabel's Grocery would close. ?
