Team Amyx is ringing in the holiday season by giving back to our community with our annual Red Cross sponsored day of packing supplies kits for Veterans. Joined by our Red Cross Representative, we spent time together at Amyx HQs creating the kits and then enjoyed an employee holiday potluck afterward.

With the 2024 winter holidays coming around, Amyx is starting our own season of giving with volunteering and our annual employee appreciation events recognizing the hard work of our employees. Amyx’s Battle Creek, Michigan Team held their 2024 holiday get-together last weekend at Martini’s restaurant in Kalamazoo.

With the celebration of Veterans Day approaching, we want to thank all of you, your families, and friends who have selflessly served our country.?While Monday is officially Veterans Day, we celebrate our Nation’s Veterans every day, recognzing their bravery and service in support of our national security, often times commiting a large portion of their lives to service. Monday gives us a dedicated time to reflect on the experiences of our Warfighters and serves as an important reminder of our duty as Americans to support our Veterans. We must remember the full extent of their selfless contributions, personal sacrifices, and harrowing risk undertaken by these heroes for the greater good of our Nation. While military personnel spend a finite amount of time in the service, they take the experiences with them and are often forever changed by their duty, affecting how they see the world and how they find purpose in their communities afterward. The true burden of sacrifice often takes place in the moments that are not as visible to the public, when they return to civilian life, and connect with others, and find their place in the world.? ? One of the ways that we support our Veterans here at Amyx is through our annual efforts working with the American Red Cross to pack Comfort Kits.?Each November, our Headquarters staff convene at our office in Reston, VA to pack much needed supplies for homeless Veterans. Our nation’s homelessness data continues to show a growing demand for our support. Of the 16 million Veterans in the United States, there are over 37,000 homeless Veterans.?In fact, Veterans constitute 13% of our entire homeless population! So, we can all do something to give back through our service, time, or a donation to a Veterans organziation. There are also educational opportunities to honor our Veterans by attending various museum exhibits and memorials. ? America’s Veterans are a diverse demographic and those more fortunate often participate in festivals and parades held here in the Nation’s capital and around the Country.?These celebrations provide much deserved recognition, and an opportunity to engage in camaraderie, and reflect on life in the military. There are also quieter, introspective ways to commemorate Veterans Day, by visiting with family members who have served or visiting an important site such as Arlington cemetery.? ? However you choose to acknowledge Veterans Day this year, remember that we must collectively aim to shoulder the load of our Veterans through consistent, year-round support and recognition of their sacrifices. At Amyx, we’re fortunate to have many Veterans across our employee base who apply their broad skills and work ethic in support of our business and customers so we invite you to thank your colleagues for all that they have done and continue to do for our country. We are deeply grateful for their past, present, and future contributions and want to thank all of you who have served our great Nation.?

William Schaefer, Amyx President & CEO, and Richard C. Schult, Amyx COO, recently took a trip to Philadelphia for a visit to our J62 clients and DMLSS team. They were then joined by DMLSS Director/Program Manager Namrata C., DLA ERPX Program Director John Hogarth, and Program Manager Nicole Sokolowski, MBA PMP, CISM for dinner at Chickie’s and Pete’s. Namrata remarked afterward, “We had a great time with Bill and Rick and especially more so because of all the kudos that the DMLSS team members got from the clients.”
