AMVER is a voluntary ship reporting system that search and rescue authorities use to locate people in distress at sea.
关于我们
AMVER, sponsored by the United States Coast Guard, is a voluntary global ship reporting system used worldwide by search and rescue authorities to arrange for assistance to persons in distress at sea. With AMVER, rescue coordinators can identify participating ships in distress and divert the best-suited vessels to respond. In an emergency, any rescue coordination center can request this data to determine the relative position of AMVER ships near the distress location. On any day, there are thousands of ships available to carry out search and rescue services.

The Automated Mutual Assistance Vessel Rescue System (AMVER) offices are located at the tip of Manhattan and the building, its piers, and location south of the World Trade Center played a role when the U.S. Coast Guard made the call for all available boats on September 11, 2001. Today we reflect, remember, and honor the bravery of those who fled and those who steamed to assist in the largest maritime evacuation in U.S. history. ??? ???? https://lnkd.in/enGWQaAT

Thank you,?SMM Hamburg?for your interest in and support of the?Automated Mutual Assistance Vessel Rescue System (AMVER). We look forward to returning in 2026 and continuing the tradition of recognizing our German shipping partners who do such brave work assisting in search and rescue! ???
Although SMM 2024 is - of course - the place to be at the moment, there are also events beyond that we would like to mention. ?? Even more so: that should receive more attention. ?? Last night, the AMVER Awards ceremony took place in Hamburg. So we caught up directly with Benjamin Strong, the director of Automated Mutual Assistance Vessel Rescue System (AMVER), during SMM to have a quick chat about that - in an Industry Talk on-site, so to speak. And by the way, congratulations to all of the award recipients! Thank you for your commitment to safety at sea. ? #Exhibition #Maritime #SMMfair #DrivingTheMaritimeTransition Hamburg Messe und Congress GmbH #TheIdealConnection #AMVER
