Her words of advice? "One piece of advice, specific to VC funding, is to find a way to get access to PitchBook or Crunchbase. Find out who invested in your competitors or similar companies, because they are more likely to invest in a company like yours. It's a good hack I didn’t know about my first couple years of fundraising. It’s also a good way of finding out who the investors are in the space. It is with bittersweet emotions that I share I am leaving Amulet to pursue a PhD in chemistry. In my 7 years with the company, I not only grew professionally, but personally as well. I will be forever grateful. Its leadership genuinely cares about its employees, and the people at Amulet are some of the sharpest and kindest out there. I also cannot imagine having the type of growth and career development I experienced at Amulet anywhere else. Amulet’s technology draws from several different areas of science. Its scientists are expected to not only be comfortable in all these spaces, but also be able to innovate in them as well. This pushed me outside my comfort zone in the most incredible ways and encouraged me to develop skills that will prove invaluable in my future endeavors. Amulet is very focused on upskilling its employees while also creating an environment that is at once challenging but supportive—it’s probably why few people leave. Although I am no longer officially at Amulet, I will remain on in an advisory capacity to ensure the Amulet sees its way successfully to market.
