The AISES conference (Advancing Indigenous People in STEM) was truly an inspiring event, showcasing the brilliance and potential of Indigenous students and professionals in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Attending the conference was an eye-opening experience, filled with remarkable displays of talent, innovation, and resilience. From the moment the Amtrak team arrived, the atmosphere was charged with enthusiasm and passion. Engaging workshops and seminars highlighted the critical role of Indigenous students and professionals in shaping the future of STEM. These scholars are not only breaking barriers but also driving change with a profound respect for their cultural heritage. In summary, the AISES Conference was not just an event; it was a celebration of talent, culture, and potential. #diversity #inclusion #indigenous #stem

Today, Washington Union Station came alive with dancers from a local dance school, the Viva School, celebrating the grand unveiling of Nekisha Durrett's "Farewell, We're Good and Gone," a new and powerful art installation at the station honoring the Great Migration. Durrett's work, part of our Art at Amtrak series, not only highlights the railways' role in this historic movement but also connects passengers to a deeper sense of history and resilience. The Viva School dancers activated the installation through powerful performances, bringing Durrett's work to life and our shared history to the forefront. At Amtrak, we strive to enrich the customer experience beginning in our stations, offering moments that reflect the stories of the communities we serve. We thank all who attended and helped bring this impactful performance to life. Did you get an opportunity to catch this memorable performance or see the art installation? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below. Curated by: Debra Simon Art Consulting #ArtAtAmtrak #WashingtonUnionStation #publicart #artsintransit

It’s time to tap into a type of travel experience that’s more about peace, freedom, and a relaxing journey—the things you won’t get by flying or driving to your destination. Our new national campaign, ‘Retrain Travel,’ is here to help you rethink your next trip. Whether you’re tired of flying or driving, Amtrak gives you the comfort and freedom that other modes of travel just can’t match. The irony is not lost on us that what makes Amtrak travel great – no middle seats, plenty of leg room, being able to walk around – is what makes flying and driving so painful. With stunning visuals and innovative storytelling techniques (you’ll have to see it for yourself), this campaign will remind you of what travel should feel like. Ready to experience a better way to travel? Click here for the full story on how we’re transforming the future of travel: https://lnkd.in/e4JpeZbQ

As part of our efforts to enhance railroad safety, we are teaming up with Operation Lifesaver, Inc. and other first responders across the U.S. to educate people on railroad safety. Please help us share this with others: “See Tracks? Think Trains!”??? ??? Why is it important to remember only trains belong on tracks? Here are three facts to consider:??? ??? 1???? Every 3 hours, a person or vehicle in the U.S. is hit by a train.?? 2???? Trains are quieter and faster than you think.?? 3???? Average freight train traveling 55 miles/hour needs a mile or more to stop.?? ??? Your awareness can make a difference. Help us spread the word about railroad safety today. ?????? ? #SeeTracksThinkTrain #OperationClearTrack #RailSafety??
