Coffee Shops Are for Coffee... Not for Work I went to a coffee shop to enjoy a cup of coffee and get some work done. After buying my drink, I asked for the Wi-Fi only to hear, "We don’t have Wi-Fi." WHAT?! No Wi-Fi? But here’s the thing—coffee shops were never designed for remote work. They’re meant for taking a break, not setting up your office. Yet, somehow, we’ve blurred the line between work and every other aspect of life. I get it. In a fast-paced world, we feel like we have to stay plugged in 24/7. But a coffee shop is for coffee, not conference calls. And let’s be honest: ? They’re always packed, so finding a seat is a battle. ?? Outlets? Good luck. ?? Quiet space for a call? In your dreams. Smell of deli meat and burnt toast all day? ?? And if they have WIFI, it may be slow and unreliable. Coffee shops should focus on brewing the best coffee, not whether your connection is cutting out mid-Zoom. If you’re constantly heading to a coffee shop to work, maybe it’s time to find a coworking space. You won’t miss the constant noise, the outlet panic, or the struggle to concentrate. McKenna’s team was able to spread out their important documents across our wide wooden tables and hang up key visuals to guide their discussion. What an incredible morning! Yesterday, AMITY Coworking proudly hosted the Northville Chamber of Commerce Coffee & Connections event, and it was a huge success! The morning kicked off with coffee, tea, and a delicious waffle board, followed by an introduction to the purpose of our space. A special highlight was Mayor Turnbull sharing fascinating historical insights about our beautiful town of Northville. We are passionate about creating a welcoming space that brings the community together, and it was inspiring to see friendships rekindled and new connections blossom into partnerships, Some attendees even stayed after the event to continue conversations and get work done in our cozy and productive flex seating area.
