Remembering Our Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration! This past October, Amigo Community Center had the honor of hosting "Celebrating Our Journey" and participating in several events that commemorated our culture and strengthened the bonds of the Latino community in Memphis. Although Hispanic Heritage Month has passed, we continue to remember with gratitude all those shared moments and the pride in our roots. ? Overton Park Shell Concert Series – We enjoyed live music and a vibrant atmosphere that showcased the joy of our culture. ? LatinFest organized by Cazateatro – A special day filled with music, dance, and Latin traditions shared with many families from the community. ? Kingsbury High School Fair – We brought resources and support to our educational community, reaffirming our commitment to the future of our youth. ? Latino 901 Soccer Game – We celebrated our passion for soccer and pride in being Latino at an unforgettable sports event. Thank you to everyone who invited us and joined us at these events. What a memorable day we experienced last Saturday during the talk “Maximize Your Professional Potential.” Not only did we benefit from the valuable words of Pastor Colmenares, but we also witnessed the passion and dedication of a leader who has devoted his life to excellence and the education of our community. Pastor Colmenares, an Academic Planner at @acapuninstitute in Chicago, is a living example of perseverance. With a distinguished academic career in Venezuela as a Dentist, University Professor, and Speaker, his story of immigration and success is an inspiration to us all. From founding the ACAPUN University Preparation Academy to creating the ACAPUNE Institute in the United States, his commitment to education and supporting Latinos has impacted more than 100 people in the validation of their degrees in this country. Yesterday, Bank of America organized an extraordinary event where they announced the launch of an initiative aimed at preventing criminals from targeting small businesses. This initiative is a collaborative effort between the City of Memphis, the Memphis Police Department, and Edge. Our Chairwoman Angela Trillo Vice-President Alexandra Matlock and our Secretariat Alexandra Feliciano had the honor of being present at this event with Paul Young and Chief CJ Davis.
