In honor of #RareDiseaseDay, Team Amicus was joined by some of our #FabryDisease and #PompeDisease Champions for our annual Rare Disease Day Global Lunch & Learn – Tiffany Patrick, MPH, MBA moderated an exploration of this year’s theme, “More Than You Can Imagine” and what this means for these rare disease community leaders. Several of our patient champions from the U.S. and the UK shared their unique experiences, including George, a proud father and primary caregiver of his son, Phoenix, who lives with Pompe disease. “I have gained more than I could have imagined – a deeper appreciation for the little moments and a greater understanding of what truly matters – love, resilience and connections we build along the way.” George shared his family’s journey, highlighting his favorite moments with Phoenix, the vital role of resources and medical technology, and the importance of ensuring every person living with a rare disease gets the care, access, and support they deserve. For George and Phoenix, a diagnosis changed their family’s path, but it didn’t take away their ability to build a joyful, fulfilling life. At Amicus, being a patient-first company means amplifying the voices of those living with rare diseases and internalizing their stories as a guiding light for everything we do. Our dedication to patients and their families is what drives us to truly provide healing beyond disease. Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/gvjs96ZV #RareDiseaseDay #PatientAdvocacy #AmicusCares

This week, Paul Howard, PhD, Executive Director, Policy and Patient Experience Innovation?at Amicus, attended the EveryLife Foundation for Rare Diseases' Legislative Conference for Rare Disease Week. Together with EveryLife Foundation’s CEO, Michael Pearlmutter, Paul was joined by two #FabryDisease and #PompeDisease Patient Champions, Darrick and Heather. The conference — taking place just prior to #RareDiseaseDay — was a powerful reminder of the collective strength of those advocating for the rare disease community. Hundreds of rare disease advocates gathered to raise awareness, share their stories, and make their voices heard by policymakers. We were honored to join them and to express our unwavering support for those living with rare diseases. #EveryLifeFoundation #AmicusCares?
