[AMHERST POLICE, NY] -- Blackout Wednesday, also known as "Drinksgiving," is the night before Thanksgiving and has become one of the biggest drinking nights of the year. With friends and family returning home, many people celebrate by going out – and while it's a great time to reconnect, it’s also a night known for heavy drinking and increased DUIs. ?? Stay Safe, Plan Ahead ?? This Blackout Wednesday, we’re encouraging everyone to make safe choices. If you plan to drink: ? Designate a sober driver. ? Use rideshare or public transportation. ? Look out for friends and help each other get home safely. Drunk driving endangers lives. Let’s make this Thanksgiving a safe one for everyone! #BlackoutWednesday

Hey everyone, it’s Manny here! Guess what? Today, I had the BEST playdate ever with my brother Jack at the Community Policing and Training Facility! Jack and I go way back—we’re littermates from Labs Landing! It felt so good to reunite and spend the day chasing, playing, and catching up on all the pup gossip and best of all, Jack lives right here in Amherst. Big thanks to everyone who made this day possible! It’s moments like these that make life paw-some. #APDManny

??? A simmering pot, a fiery brew, Chilies unite, red, green, and blue. In the heart of the precinct, a savory quest, Who will cook up the ultimate zest? Laughter mingles with fragrant steam, Neighbors and officers share the same dream. Spicy, mild, or a smoky flair, Each bowl a story, a bond to share. No badges, no ranks, just spoons in hand, Building bridges through flavors grand. A chili contest, warm and true, A recipe for a stronger crew. ???
