?? I read a book recently that talked about how some of the most innovative ideas?happen when different industries, lived experiences, and perspectives collide. That’s exactly what I witnessed in the panel discussion I moderated this week with AMFP Charlotte - Association of Medical Facility Professionals. We had an wonderful conversation where experts in accessibility, disability, and inclusion met at the intersection of expert designers, architects & builders of healthcare environments.
The exchange of ideas felt like a real-world example of The Medici Effect, where breakthroughs emerge when people from different disciplines come together, listen, ask questions, challenge norms, and reimagine what’s possible. It was a reminder that change happens when we step outside our silos and build new ideas together.
A huge thank you to the wonderful panelists (Tiarra Chambliss, Lindsey Braciale, C. Jonathan Clark, Hogan VanSickle, JD, MHR) and everyone who showed up to the conversation with curiosity and an open mind! AND to the spark who ignited the whole vision and idea for the whole event, Sara Cheikelard, ACHA, EDAC, AIA, NCARB
