The holiday season holds a unique opportunity for teens in treatment—a chance to heal, build resilience, and create positive new memories. At our teen residental treatment program, Mission Prep, we’re dedicated to making this time both meaningful and restorative for the young people in our care. Our team curates thoughtful activities that promote connection and joy, from festive meals and creative crafts to movie nights and engaging games. These moments aren’t just about celebration; they’re about helping teens feel supported and understood during a pivotal time in their healing journey. We also honor the diverse traditions and cultures of our teens, ensuring that everyone feels included and valued. Whether it’s a cherished cultural celebration or a traditional gathering, we create spaces where teens can feel a sense of belonging and connection with their peers. This approach helps teens process emotions, foster new connections, and develop a foundation for long-term well-being. The memories and skills built during the holidays at Mission Prep are designed to last far beyond the season, giving teens the strength and confidence to navigate life’s challenges.

Hey Friends! I am sure you have noticed our growing team and my constant posting about new staff. Now. let me be clear I love all my teammates equally. Mothers are not allowed to have favorites. But I will say there is something very special about this one. He caught my eye while serving as the Director of Academics within Mission Prep, our adolescent program. He has the "thing". Everyone on my team does, but, he had no idea he had "it". I am so thrilled to work with him and see where the journey takes him. So who precisely am I taking about... Steven Andrews! Steven joins the AMFM Healthcare and Mission Prep team with a strong passion for equity, access, and empowering youth to develop their own self-efficacy. He is committed to providing a restorative experience for students, creating an environment where they can reimagine what academics looks and feels like. With a lifelong dedication to studying the human mind, Steven's academic journey includes a BA in Psychology from CSU Dominguez Hills and a Master's in Education, specializing in Special Education, from Chapman University. Over the past decade, he has worked with diverse learner populations, always advocating fiercely for his students and supporting them with best practices as they process both learning and life experiences. Steven believes in the power of persistence and empathetic understanding, firmly asserting that change and growth are always possible. As an unconditional ally to his students, he works to instill confidence and resilience in all those he supports. A Long Beach native, Steven enjoys spending time outdoors, playing with his dog, and indulging in burritos. He also takes great pride in being the "Fun Uncle" to his two nephews and niece. We're thrilled to have Steven on board and look forward to the impact he will make at Mission Prep!
