Serve on a team and make an impact in communities across the country while gaining valuable leadership skills.
关于我们
The mission of AmeriCorps NCCC is to strengthen communities and develop leaders through team-based service. Members travel the U.S. for 10-11 months, providing service and relief to communities in need. AmeriCorps NCCC is comprised of four distinct service tracks: Traditional Corps, FEMA Corps, Forest Corps, and Summer of Service. Our traditional AmeriCorps NCCC track is a rugged and demanding service experience designed to strengthen communities and build America’s next generation of leaders. Teams complete direct, hands-on service projects like cleaning up after natural disasters, constructing homes, tutoring students, building trails in parks and forests, and more. They work in partnership with non-profits, local municipalities, state governments, federal government, national and state parks, Indian tribes, and schools. Our FEMA Corps track is an immersive professional experience supporting active FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) projects that strengthen our nation’s capacity to prepare for and respond to disasters. Teams deliver disaster prevention response, and recovery services by providing administrative and logistical support. Summer of Service is a simplified version of NCCC’s other programs, on a shortened timeframe. Forest Corps is a program partnership between AmeriCorps NCCC and United States Forest Service. You will perform direct, hands-on service in the areas of wildfire risk mitigation, reforestation, environmental conservation, and resource management. AmeriCorps NCCC teams are small groups comprised of 18-26-year-old Members under the direction of one Team Leader. Members are assigned to one of four regional campuses for initial trainings: Sacramento, CA; Aurora, CO; Vinton, IA; or Vicksburg, MS. After training, teams are deployed to multiple projects throughout the country over the course of their 10 to 11-month service term. The communication is produced and published at US taxpayer expense.

AmeriCorps' 30th anniversary celebrations come to an end. AmeriCorps CEO Michael D. Smith reflects on the yearlong celebrations: ? It was an honor to join our members, volunteers, alums, partners, elected officials, and friends over the past year to celebrate 30 years of AmeriCorps! ? ? In Sacramento, California, along with our partners at USDA Forest Service, we welcomed the first cohort the AmeriCorps NCCC Forest Corps, a key component of President Biden's American Climate Corps. These 80 young leaders are taking on forest management, wildfire prevention, and ecological restoration across the nation.?These members demonstrate how our commitment to equipping the next generation with the skills necessary for climate careers will turn this moment into an even more unstoppable movement to fight climate change. ? In New Orleans, I had the opportunity to see intergenerational service in action during the National Veterans Wheelchair Games, the world's largest annual wheelchair rehabilitation sports event exclusively for veterans. During the event, we signed a new MOU with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, which will mobilize members of AmeriCorps NCCC and AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers to support the National Veterans Wheelchair Games, Veterans Golden Age Games, and other VA-organized events for our nation’s veterans. ? Just last week, in New York City, we celebrated promises kept and new partnerships launched. At Clinton Global Initiative, Pinterest CEO Bill Ready and I shared the commitment we made last year to tackle the youth mental health crisis is now the Youth Mental Health Corps, a bold new partnership between AmeriCorps, Pinterest, the Schultz Family Foundation, and America Forward that will place more than 500 AmeriCorps members to serve as mental health navigators while learning about related careers. Later, at a New York Climate Week event with Google, US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Michael Regan and I announced the creation of a new American Climate Corps program, the Environmental Justice Climate Corps. EJCC is the largest federal environmental partnership in AmeriCorps' history and the EPA's first nationwide service effort. Through the new partnership, hundreds of members in AmeriCorps VISTA will serve across the country, helping organizations in underserved communities address environmental justice and climate challenges while gaining the skills and experience for good-paying clean energy and climate careers. ? While our thirtieth birthday celebration has come to an end, our commitment to bringing out the best of America to get things done for America is just as urgent and unstoppable as it has ever been. Whether it's helping students learn to read, rebuilding homes after disasters, or providing second chances through service, AmeriCorps members and volunteers commit to transforming lives – including their own – every day. Thank you for celebrating AmeriCorps with us. Bit.ly/30thRecap24 #AmeriCorps30
