Today we’ve announced the acquisition of a facility in Houston, Texas for a $127 million investment including planned expansion and equipment upgrades. This strategic investment will add ~35,700 pallet positions and 10.7 million cubic feet to our growing cold storage network, strengthening our ability to serve retail customers with high-turn, temperature-controlled solutions. George Chappelle, our CEO, shared “This is a compelling example of Americold’s strategy to expand its market-leading presence in the high-turn, retail segment of the cold storage supply chain. The catalyst for this acquisition was the award of a large grocery retail contract with one of the world’s largest retailers.
