Creating pathways to health for all, responding to disasters, & ensuring access to quality care for 45 years!
关于我们
For 45 years, we have been a beacon of health and hope for communities worldwide, confronting pressing health challenges. Established in 1979, we are a health-focused humanitarian organization dedicated to responding to people affected by poverty, disaster, and inequity with life-changing health programs, medicine, and supplies. Our mission is to help people and communities access health in times of disaster and every day. We envision pathways to health and opportunity for all, driven by our commitment to sustainable solutions and treating people as they want to be treated. To date, we have provided over $20 billion in aid to 164 countries, including the US. We distribute over $900 million in medicine and supplies to 90 countries each year. Over the next five years, we aim to help 100 million people gain access to quality healthcare. Let’s make health happen for everyone, everywhere.

Our friends at JPMorganChase have generously donated $350,000 to help our relief efforts for the survivors of #HurricaneHelene. This crucial support is helping us restore health services for communities across the southeastern U.S., especially in western North Carolina. Americares is delivering urgent relief supplies, supporting health services, and providing vital mental health support. Our teams have been working tirelessly since Hurricane Helene made landfall, ensuring that clinics have the medicine and resources they need. With this gift, we will be able to continue our vital work. #Americares #JPMorganChase

We’re excited to shine a light on the great partnership between Cummins Inc. Water Works and #Americares to enhance water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) services in five schools in Barranquilla, Colombia! This initiative will improve access to clean water, reduce water-related diseases, and empower students—especially women and girls—to advocate for better sanitation. Impacting over 10,300 individuals, this project supports Cummins’ PLANET 2050 goal of becoming net water positive by 2030. Together, we’re strengthening communities through sustainable water solutions! #WASH #Cummins #Americares #WorldToiletDay https://lnkd.in/e8DFc4Fk

New clinic, same mission! We are excited to announce Americares Free Clinics will be relocating our Norwalk clinic to a new, modern space more than twice the size of our previous location. This new chapter for our clinic will allow us to better meet the health needs of the local community. Starting in 1994, the free clinics program is the largest in Connecticut, providing health care to nearly 2,000 low-income, uninsured Fairfield County residents annually. Since our founding we have helped over 28,000 residents receive primary care, medication, health education, diagnostic testing, specialty care and community referrals at no cost. We look forward to welcoming patients in the new clinic early next year. #Americares

A night of joy and gratitude, as we celebrated 30 years of #Americares Free Clinics! Last night's event, hosted by Alexa & Ward Horton, brought together nearly 150 staff, volunteers and supporters to commemorate three decades of work providing quality health care in Fairfield County, CT. We recognized our many partners who make this all possible, including Norwalk Hospital (Nuvance Health) for its 30 years of partnership, providing $9 million in medical services to clinic patients. Our four clinics in #Connecticut provide free, quality health care to nearly 2,000 low-income, uninsured Fairfield County residents annually. Over the past 30 years, the clinics in #Bridgeport, #Danbury, #Norwalk and #Stamford have helped over 28,000 residents receive primary care, medication, health education, diagnostic testing, specialty care and community referrals at no cost. Here's to another 30 years of health, hope, and healing in Fairfield County! ?? #Americares #FreeClinics #PartnershipsInHealth

This month, we’re celebrating an incredible milestone: 30 years of #Americares Free Clinics. Since our first clinic opened in Norwalk, we’ve grown to become Connecticut’s largest free clinic program with 4 clinics providing quality healthcare to our hardworking neighbors. We have delivered $165 million in health services to 28,000 patients and none of it would have been possible without support from YOU. As we look ahead, we remain committed to improving health and expanding access to care. Thank you to our donors, friends, and supporters for your continued partnership—together, we’ll continue to make a healthier, stronger community for all. ??

Did you know that over 422 million people worldwide live with #diabetes? Managing this chronic illness can create many challenges including high medical costs or simply finding access to the medicines needed. Through our partnership with Rural India Supporting Trust (RIST), Americares India is working to remove these barriers to care and ensure everyone has the access and support they need to live their healthiest life. Since the start of our joint Urban Health Strategy with #RIST, we have provided 16,500 diabetic patients with access to vital care and treatment for their diabetes in #Mumbai. In addition to treatment, patients receive health education sessions on diabetes, referrals and annual screenings through local health volunteers. For the India team and the communities they serve, diabetes awareness and diabetes-focused activities will continue throughout the month.
