???? Weld Wednesday is back, and this month we’re talking about how welding educators can train smarter with special guest Travis Jumper Ph.D. ?? With 17+ years of experience in welding education, including 13 years teaching high school, 4 years at the community college level, and managing a welding program with 160+ students, 7+ instructors, and 18 dual credit instructors, Dr. Jumper knows firsthand the challenges educators face. ?? As part of his Ph.D. research, he studied the barriers to implementing augmented reality (AR) in welding education—including cost savings, funding options, and how AR can help students develop muscle memory and improve technique before stepping into the booth. ?? In this episode, host Jason Becker and Dr. Jumper break down the real-world impact of AR welding systems—how they can enhance, not replace, traditional welding training. Skeptical? You’re not alone—Jason once was too! But this conversation will change the way you think about welding education. ??
