We’re Americans for Clean Aviation Fuels (ACAF), a diverse coalition of the largest industrial sectors in America, from farmers to fuel producers and aviation to agribusiness. We’re focused on promoting the economic benefits of building a robust U.S. market for clean aviation fuels (CAFs). In doing so, CAFs will become an engine to power the American economy by creating jobs while reducing emissions in the aviation sector. Working together, ACAF will drive national efforts to advance policies that drive investment in these American-grown feedstocks – benefitting the American economy, farmers and growers, the environment, and national security. On Friday, the United States Treasury released long-awaited additional guidance on the Clean Fuel Production Credit (45Z). The announcement is another unnecessary delay causing America’s farmers, biofuel producers, oil and gas producers and transportation partners to face needless and prolonged uncertainty. These credits were established to help invest in innovative clean fuels, aiding our rural communities, strengthening our economy and benefiting our environment. Delaying the final implementation further removes any opportunity to achieve our energy and economic goals. We are reviewing the preliminary guidance, and we will work with our members and the incoming Administration to quickly align on rules that will give clarity to American industry partners to scale the clean aviation fuel market, unlock enormous economic benefits, secure our energy independence and support our American farmers.
