Illinois American Water invested more than $277 million in system upgrades throughout its service areas. Learn more below ??.
As we wrap up Illinois American Water's celebration of 2025 Engineering Week, we're sending out a "Thank you!" to the engineers and team members who helped bring recent infrastructure investments to life. In 2024, we invested $277.63 million in water and wastewater system improvements throughout the state, including: ??Alton, IL: A $6.3 million upgrade to the water treatment plant included installation of state-of-the-art ultraviolet light equipment to treat water from the Mississippi River as well as installing new service lines, pipes, and manholes and upgrading systems to improve service reliability. ??Jerseyville, IL: The $31.5 million investment enhances the delivery of clean, safe water, allowing the facility to more effectively treat the raw water and for more efficient use of chemicals used in the water treatment process. ??Lincoln, IL: A new, $40 million water treatment plant was completed, producing an estimated five million gallons of water per day and featuring a deeper water intake as well as new electrical and security systems. ??Additional investments, such as: Water and Wastewater Treatment & System Improvements, Water Main Installation and Rehabilitations, Fire Hydrant and Valve Repairs and Maintenance. Thank you to our crew who delivered this 7,000 gallon tanker of water this evening to assist the Logan County PSD and its customers during their prolonged water outage. ???? We are always happy to help keep West Virginians lives flowing! The tanker is located at 100 Old Guyan River Road in Logan. Customers should bring their own containers for filling.
