Helping solve the trucker shortage

关于我们

American Truck Training (ATT) is a commercial truck driving school that was formed to address the infinite need for new and experienced professional truck drivers in the U.S. Most major trucking carriers require that future “Over the Road” (OTR) drivers graduate from a truck driving school so, job placement is almost guaranteed. Students are usually pre-hired before completion of a school. We aspire to provide job placement assistance while training students to receive their Commercial Drivers License (CDL). ATT produces over $3 million in sales annually and has 2 campuses, including Tulsa and West Campus.

  • In a significant step toward addressing the pressing shortage of truck drivers and supporting veterans in their transition to civilian life, American Truck Training School recently hosted Steve Shaw of The Oklahoma News Report for an insightful interview. The company's President and CEO Jerome Redmond, who has been invited by the White House to join a Task Force aimed at creating job opportunities for veterans. During the discussion, Navy Veteran Chris Stockton who is an Alumni of American Truck Training and Air Force Veteran Everett Mann who recently received his Commercial Driver's License and Certification from American Truck Training shared their personal struggles in finding employment after military service, highlighting the often-overlooked value of obtaining a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) as a pathway to a rewarding career. Their stories underscore the urgent need for targeted programs to empower veterans, strengthen the trucking industry, and how having a CDL is a hidden Gem of Employment to every retired Veteran of the United States. https://lnkd.in/gjzUYHxm

Last week, CVTA Board Member Jerome Redmond and Executive Director Andrew Poliakoff attended a meeting with Task Force Movement, hosted at The White House Eisenhower Executive Office Building.? ? Task Force Movement is a group of strong advocates that work to create pathways to careers in the trucking, healthcare and cybersecurity industries for our nation’s veterans. The Task Force came together in response to the Trucking Action Plan to Strengthen America’s Trucking Workforce and CVTA members like Werner Enterprises have participated since its inception. ? CVTA joined Patrick D. Nemons and Deputy Administrator Vinn White from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration in addition to Werner's Jafi Roskey and Fastport, Inc.'s Brad Bentley, to highlight opportunities to grow the trucking workforce and expand options for veterans. Acting in his role as Senior Policy Advisor on TFM, Jerome Redmond looks forward to sharing insights on issues critical to meeting this goal, like the enforcement of Entry-Level Driver Training standards, optimization of WIOA funding, and increases in grant programs to help future drivers access professional training.
