We’re big fans of Generations United’s work, and their GRAND Voices programs demonstrate why. Grandparents raising grandchildren are highly valued as key advisors and policy makers in this program, which is very well described by Donna Butts and Robyn Wind in the new #GenerationsJournal here: https://lnkd.in/edykuxBS

'On Aging 2025'—the?American Society on Aging's annual conference - here I come!????? The conference brings together leaders, changemakers, and advocates - all committed to reshaping the narrative around aging. And this year’s theme is "Ageism & Culture." On April 24th, I’ll be leading a session on intergenerational allyship - critical in dismantling ageism and fostering true age inclusivity, equity and generational balance. Why 'intergenerational allyship'? Ageism is the only “ism” that every person can personally experience. Yet, most don’t recognise it until it impacts them personally, often as they get older. So we need all generations engaged in this movement - one where we can all be allies, and we can all be affected. Not to mention intergenerational practices have been found to be one of the most effective & sustainable ways to dismantle ageism as they foster innovation, enhance engagement, boost productivity, and improve well-being and compassion. So in this session, we’ll explore: ? How to foster intergenerational allyship & build bridges across generations ? How to encourage younger people to become active advocates against ageism ?? How older adults can welcome & empower younger allies in the movement Plus my presentation will coincide with kicking off Global Intergenerational Week, so it couldn't be more timely!
