The American Red Cross prevents & alleviates human suffering in emergencies with help from volunteers & generous donors.
关于我们
We're in local communities every day, helping people prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergencies. Last year, Georgia's Red Cross helped more people following home fires with food, shelter, and other essentials than any other region in the country! We teach life-saving skills, provide resources for military families, and help international families in crisis. We also support our Southern Blood Services region in their efforts to ensure a safe and ready blood supply in Georgia. How do we empower so many of our neighbors to respond to emergencies? By mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors. We can't turn heartbreak into hope without your help! Our Impact In the past year, the American Red Cross in the Georgia Region has been able to make a difference in our local community because of the generosity of our donors and the support of our volunteers.

Thank you to the Atlanta Gas Light Foundation for their generous $1 million gift to support the Community Adaptation Program (CAP) in Chatham County, Georgia! CAP will partner with trusted, local organizations specializing in health, hunger and housing to enhance resources for families struggling with pre-existing social inequities. While the program is just starting, the Red Cross has already been able to help local families after Hurricanes Debby and Helene. “We connected a family who had been displaced by the flooding with an agency who could assist with housing,” said Alex Taylor, Community Adaptation Program Manager for Chatham County. “As a result of our efforts, this family was able to secure a new home here in Chatham County. In fact, they told me they didn’t know what advocacy looked like before the Red Cross came into their lives. I think that’s a testament to this program and how we can help one individual connect with community to find hope and help.” We are incredibly grateful to the Atlanta Gas Light Foundation for being an anchor donor to this program! Wow! Thank you to everyone at Fort Moore and our own Service to the Armed Forces Regional Program Manager, Michele Walton. Y’all pulled out all the stops to show us how to #BeMoore. We had an amazing time learning and experiencing so much – beginning with how Black Hawk helicopters are used, including for combat and medical evacuations. Stay tuned…more to come this week.
