关于我们
The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors. The first office of the American Red Cross in Connecticut was established in 1898. Today, the American Red Cross helps Connecticut residents prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies with services provided by small paid staff and a corps of more than 10,000 volunteers. The Connecticut Chapter responds to an average of more than 500 local disasters each year, providing immediate disaster assistance to Connecticut residents in the form of emotional support, emergency shelter, food, clothing and other household needs. We teach Connecticut residents how to protect themselves or to help others in an emergency through courses in First Aid, CPR and Lifeguarding, as well as Babysitter training and Community Disaster Education programs. We provide emergency communications, counseling and other services to Connecticut military families. And we support the collection of blood at thousands of drives across the state to provide lifesaving blood components and products to hospitals and acute care facilities in Connecticut.

Celebrating National Gratitude Month! ?? As November unfolds, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to M&T Bank for their generous financial support following the recent historic flooding in Western Connecticut. Their commitment has made a significant impact on our community, helping hundreds of local families in need. With the help of our partners, more than 5,400 meals and snacks were served to those affected. Additionally, the Red Cross opened Multi-Agency Resource Centers, providing essential recovery resources that residents needed to rebuild their lives. A special shoutout to the nearly 80 Red Cross workers from our community who stepped up to support the response efforts. Together, we are making a difference! ?? #NationalGratitudeMonth #ThankYou #DisasterResponse

Red Cross is honored to count Edgewell Personal Care as a partner during Hurricane Season and all year long! In addition to their recent Ready 365 Platinum Plus donation to support Disaster Relief and International Services, the Edgewell team recently rolled up their sleeves to donate blood. This is especially important as Hurricanes Milton and Helene caused canceled blood drives across the Southeast. Thank you, Edgewell Personal Care, for supporting our mission to care for people impacted by disasters! ?? #RedCross #ThankYou #CommunitySupport #DisasterResponse
