As Hurricanes Helene and Milton and the US presidential election dominate the headlines, the American Property Casualty Insurance Association (APCIA) conference kicks off with a call for leadership. APCIA President David A. Sampson urges industry leaders to address the "crisis of trust" facing US institutions. https://hubs.la/Q02SP_f80

The APCIA, which represents insurers covering 75% of U.S. insurance, has seen its board chair role pass from Travelers’ CEO to CNA’s, and will go to David Bell, CEO of ALPS Lawyers Malpractice Insurance & Law Firm Insurance Property & Casualty, in 2027. “I hope to show small and mid-size insurance companies that you don’t need to be the 800-pound gorilla; you don’t have to lead the biggest insurers to lead policy,” he told APCIA Today as he transitions into the role of APCIA chair-elect at this meeting.
