Bipartisan resolutions – HF 2225 & SF 2517– have been introduced in the Minnesota House & Senate to reclaim control over election spending and curb outside influence from billionaires, special interests, and foreign actors. The resolution would return power to states and Congress to regulate campaign spending, a step supported by more than 70% of Minnesotans. We thank Reps. Hollins & Engen and Sens. Port & Bahr for leading this effort on advancing this effort!

Momentum builds in Texas! ?? Sen. Angela Paxton and Rep. Terri Leo Wilson introduced SCR 28 and HCR 79 to urge Congress to amend the U.S. Constitution, restoring states’ power to control election spending and protecting Texas elections from foreign influence. Texas joins a growing number of states taking action to reclaim this authority over political spending. Stay tuned for updates as these resolutions move forward!

Senator Al Simpson was a wonderful man, a Wyoming and an American legend, who led with humor, grace, and a deep belief in his fellow Americans and freedom. He helped us launch American Promise and never stopped working for the effort. We'll miss him, and send love and prayers to Ann and the Simpson family.

American Promise celebrates the extraordinary life and legacy of U.S. Senator Alan Simpson (R-WY), who passed away March 14. Senator Simpson was a true friend of democracy, an outspoken champion of regulating the influence of money in politics, and a member of the American Promise Advisory Council. He will be remembered as a model citizen and statesman: He treated people with respect, assumed good faith, and led with moral clarity.
