We install architectural coatings, a fancy term for special paints, like elastomeric, a paint that was invented to cover the porosity of large insta-build type buildings that would have problems when it rained. (cement block type buildings) elastomeric paints were rubber-like, offering superior elasticity (great for preventing cracks) water-repellancy, and because of their high-build (10x thicker than normal paints) resistance to the sun and fading. Tex-Cote took this to another levell, by adding pearlite and other materials that made it fire-resitant, and later on infra-red technology that made it reflect the sun's rays and their heat, plus infusing it with kynar, a component that gave it unusual endurance, they've come up with a super-paint, and, when applied by a certifiable applicator, they extended an LLC warranty. They call their product "Coolwall" because of it's effect on cooling the walls when compared to similar paints. These paints require special prepp and handling, they have their peculiarities and must be prepped for and handled accordingly or they will not perform according to plan. Luckily I have been applying them for decades and am familiar with what causes them to fail and how to avoid it. Furthermore I'm one of the few people that service fasiled projects due to other's negligence!
