Join us virtually on Tuesday, December 3rd from 6-8pm ET to watch the documentary "Everybody's Work," which uncovers the pervasive issue of racism in healthcare, revealing its harmful effects on patients and nurses alike. Through the courageous stories of nurses and patients of color across the country, this documentary challenges the belief that racism only exists if personally experienced. It urges us to confront the reality that it impacts us all. Following a screening of "Everybody's Work," three expert panelists will discuss themes from the film and ways that nurses can address health equity in their work. In this complimentary webinar, you'll: - Explore the impact of racism in healthcare and how individuals can help change the systems that continue to perpetuate it. - Understand the impact racism has on both patients and the providers who care for them. - Learn your role and responsibility in speaking out against racism. A new study by Mercer is predicting that by 2028, “there will be an estimated overall surplus of nearly 30,000 registered nurses (RNs) across the country.” But “some states will still likely experience shortages, including East Coast states such as New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut, which are predicted to fall short by 16,000 RNs.” Conversely, the study also found that “there will be a nationwide shortage of nurse practitioners (NPs), despite this category having the fastest predicted growth rate at 3.5%.” Additionally, the report predicts a shortage of more than 73,000 nursing assistants (NAs) nationwide. A vast majority of healthcare consumers are willing to return for virtual care visits; however, demand appears to exceed supply, with nearly half of health systems saying they offer the same or fewer virtual visits today compared to 2022, according to new research from Deloitte. The survey results show that though the proportion of consumers who had a virtual health visit in the previous year increased only slightly from 42% in 2022 to 44% in 2024, the willingness to continue using virtual health services has increased significantly. In 2024, most consumers (94%) expressed willingness to have another virtual visit, up from 80% in 2020. What's your perspective on virtual care visits? In what situations do they work well, or not so well? Click to read more about the study: https://loom.ly/mJV0CSM
