Take action today against proposed Medicaid cuts:?ancor.org/amplifier. Congressional leaders are discussing proposals that could significantly reduce Medicaid funding. These cuts would have devastating consequences for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). Community providers support people with I/DD with a broad array of services from building skills in the home, such as eating, dressing, and personal hygiene, to career planning and employment supports to find and maintain jobs. These community-based services are funded almost exclusively through Medicaid. #SaveMedicaid

This morning, we kicked off ANCOR’s National Week of Action to #SaveMedicaid. Please join us this week in urging Congress to protect vital Medicaid-funded I/DD services. As Congress continues to consider legislation that could make deep cuts to Medicaid, your federal legislators need to hear from you! The U.S. House of Representatives will be voting on a bill this week that directs a congressional committee to make cuts of at least $880 billion—such drastic cuts would almost inevitably lead to reductions in community-based services and longer waiting lists for I/DD services. The time to ensure our voices are heard is now! Here’s one thing you can do today in less than 10 minutes: https://lnkd.in/gKRxXdWk. Once you’ve completed today’s Action Alert, share it with your networks and find more ways to help us #SaveMedicaid: https://lnkd.in/dvHek-Xw.

“The community-based service system is incredibly fragile right now, [so] anytime that you have something that disrupts the ability of providers to access Medicaid funding, it has an impact on their ability to provide services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities." – ANCOR's Lydia Dawson in McKnight's Home Care

Medicaid disability services help people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) to live full and independent lives in their communities. To keep the promise of community living for people with I/DD a reality, we must invest in—not divest from—the Medicaid program. #SaveMedicaid #MedicaidMeansMore Learn why preserving Medicaid is critical to disability services: https://lnkd.in/grPT5-de

We wish we didn't have to call on you to raise your voice, but WOW are we grateful to have advocates like you in our corner! Thank you for all you do to bring health and joy to the people you support!
As a woman-owned, minority-led, Medicaid-funded business dedicated to providing home and community-based services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, we are deeply concerned about the ongoing policy decisions and potential budget cuts being considered by the current administration. These changes are creating uncertainty and hardship for millions across the country—affecting not only the individuals we serve but also the organizations committed to supporting them. In times like these, I am especially grateful to be a member of ANCOR, where today I had the opportunity to join fellow providers in advocating for the communities we serve. At Health & Joy Services, we remain steadfast in our mission—to advocate, support, and provide joyful, high-quality services to those who rely on us. Together, we will continue to stand up for the dignity, rights, and well-being of the individuals and families who deserve stability, care, and respect. “Any actions that disrupt the ability of states to access federal funding, even as a result of confusion or misunderstanding, has direct consequences on the ability of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to access services,” said Lydia Dawson, ANCOR’s Vice President of Government Relations. “While we understand that the memo has since been rescinded, we are concerned that there could be other similar harmful policies pursued in the future. That is why we urge the administration to always be clear in its direction that actions pursuant to any executive order should not impact access to funding or services intended to support people with disabilities to remain in their homes and communities.”
