I’m incredibly grateful to have had the opportunity to see NOAA’s P-3 Orion, “Kermit” (N42RF), in person. It’s been a dream of mine since high school to witness this incredible aircraft up close, especially knowing the vital role it plays in hurricane research. Being able to talk to one of the hurricane hunters, Nick Underwood, was truly unforgettable, and it made the experience even more meaningful. Thank you to American Meteorological Society Gator Chapter for organizing this and Nick for the awesome tour!

A #NativeAmericanHeritageMonth spotlight on the Front Page Blog features Robbie Hood, whose 30-year career meteorology career spanned NOAA and NASA, and who now works on building Indigenous community partnerships within weather, water, and climate. "[A project scientist position at NASA] gave me the opportunity to work with and, eventually, lead teams of renowned scientists, engineers, and pilots during large international weather field experiments ... I got to fly through four different hurricanes, all because I initially stepped out of my comfort zone." Read the full blog post here: https://bit.ly/3OdIcA0
