The American Lung Association was proud to fund the COPD-iNET symposium held from November 3-5, 2024, at the Babson Conference Center in Boston. This event brought together 98 COPD researchers from around the world to share their research findings and learn about global advancements in the field. Such gatherings are crucial for accelerating progress toward effective treatments and, ultimately, a cure for COPD. COPD-iNET is an international network dedicated to advancing translational research in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Its primary focus is to advance translational research in COPD by facilitating discussions about ongoing projects, state-of-the-art systems biology approaches and human in vitro models, and clinical cohorts. By fostering collaborations among experts in basic, preclinical, and clinical COPD research, COPD-iNET aims to identify novel pathomechanisms and develop new therapeutic avenues to reduce the burden of COPD on patients and society.
