Particularly notable, participants aged 60 and older saw a 71% risk reduction. So why was this critical research defunded? Investigators speculate it’s tied to the Trump administration's decision to revoke $400 million in federal grants from Columbia University, a move reportedly influenced by political disagreements. Columbia has been a key player in administering DPP funding across the country.
