Featuring thoughtfully curated amenities, the rooftop not only enhances residents' lifestyles but also contributes to Chicago's green infrastructure goals by improving air quality, managing stormwater, and reducing the urban heat island effect. This project highlights the impact of intentional design, where beauty and functionality come together to create spaces that inspire and support sustainability. 360 North Green will be Boston Consulting Group’s new HQ in the Midwest and is located in the heart of Chicago’s Fulton Market. Offering top of the line amenities, efficient office floor plans and proximity to one of Chicago’s hottest neighborhoods, the building is perfectly suited to attracting and retaining talent especially with its secret duckpin bowling lounge. The amenity decks, where tenants can host meetings, take a break, or enjoy a drink, were completed with the Ultimate Assembly covering nearly 20,000 square feet and the Garden Roof Assembly covering almost 10,000 square feet. The 4th floor outdoor space features winding paths that meander around the entire building. Vegetated space on the south exposure helps to block noise from the Metra train but also adds natural beauty and biodiversity. The rooftop deck also combines hardscape and softscape to elevate the space and offers amazing skyline views. Urban Agriculture Garden Roof? Assembly Highlight: Rooftop farming is increasingly being incorporated into urban building design because it capitalizes on a valuable roof space in a vertical environment that is otherwise wasted. The recently opened Populus Hotel in Denver, CO is the country’s first carbon positive hotel. Developed by?Urban Villages, designed by?Studio Gang, and constructed/installed by The Beck Group/Douglass Colony Group the 265-room property blends nature-inspired design with environmentally conscious hospitality. The hotel incorporated a Hydrotech Garden Roof Assembly, designed/installed by Superbloom Landscape Architecture/GREEN ROOFS OF COLORADO LLC, that integrates native trees and vegetation to compliment the amenity deck for a more natural setting. The Ultimate Assembly was used at the rooftop restaurant and bar featuring glacier white pavers in an open joint pedestal paver configuration. Fulton Labs at 400 N Aberdeen is a mixed-use development located in Chicago’s Fulton Market District.?This brand-new complex includes a combination of research and development lab space infrastructure and business amenities to optimize discovery.?The state-of-the-art facility is home to a 40,000 square foot Hydrotech Garden Roof? and Ultimate Assembly?, kept watertight by Monolithic Membrane 6125?. The Extensive Garden Roof? was planted with InstaGreen? Carpet, which provides almost 95% coverage at the time of installation. This is not only aesthetically pleasing, but also reduces initial maintenance requirements. The Garden Roof Assembly helps reduce the urban heat island effect, purify the air, and plays a major role in stormwater management.
