We’re always looking for ways to reduce the environmental impact of our product manufacturing. The U.S. Department of Energy recently teamed up with Honda East Liberty Auto Plant in Ohio for a #BetterPlants Energy Treasure Hunt. Together, Better Plants experts and ELP’s environmental team identified low-cost or no-cost energy-saving opportunities in lighting, HVAC systems, and process optimization. This initiative aims to boost energy efficiency, cut operational costs, and promote sustainability.

Meet Alex Yeverino, former Honda co-op and proud Purdue University alumnus, who is now a full-time Honda associate in the Die & Mold Department at our Marysville Auto Plant in Ohio! As a co-op, Alex was already making an impact at Honda. He saw an opportunity to improve mold build efficiency: by understanding design details – like undercut shapes or injection points – the team could order parts sooner, cutting lead time and enabling them to start the mold build earlier. Through asking questions and gaining a deeper understanding of the new model design process, Alex made a significant contribution to the Die & Mold Department. We're excited to see what he’ll achieve as a full-time Honda associate!
